🗡️ Sermon delivered at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at 11:15 am. 🗡️
This expository sermon on Galatians 4 is a plea to drop all forms of legalism.
The apostle Paul gets straight to the point and reminds the Galatians that before they knew God, they were stuck in servitude and were NOT free men.
But now, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, they are set free and no longer ignorant of spiritual things. They have escaped the bondage of the world through the gospel and have come to know God in a real and meaningful way.
Paul warns them of going back into Jewish law keeping, which caters to the flesh.
Finally, this sermon asks: are the things you are doing honoring to God?
Galatians 4:8-11 (KJV) Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
