What does it truly mean to be a man in today’s world?

In this deep and powerful conversation, Petr and Jose explore modern men’s work, masculinity, emotional healing, and rites of passage, drawing from personal experience, men’s groups, retreats, embodiment practices, and wilderness initiations.

Jose shares his journey from growing up between Puerto Rico and New Jersey, navigating family chaos, identity struggles, and early self-improvement efforts, to eventually finding his path through psychology, therapy, men’s groups, and coaching. A major relationship breakdown became the catalyst for deeper inner work, leading him into embodiment, leadership development, and guiding other men through transformational experiences.

Together, Petr and Jose dive into:

• The evolution of men’s groups before and after the pandemic
• The differences between online vs in-person men’s work
• Why embodiment, physical presence, and somatic release are essential for healing
• How vulnerability and emotional expression build lifelong brotherhood
• Creating safe spaces for men to process anger, grief, joy, and connection
• The role of men’s retreats, workshops, and ceremonies in emotional healing
• Integrating masculine and feminine energies for balanced masculinity
• The importance of role models and teachers in men’s development
• Wilderness rites of passage, Vision Quest, and initiations for young men
• Fasting, solitude, and nature as tools for self-discovery and leadership
• Spiritual initiations, grief practices, and confronting fear as gateways to growth

Jose also shares insights into his wilderness rites of passage program, blending ancestral teachings, leadership coaching, and men’s work to help men face their shadows, reconnect with purpose, and mature into grounded, authentic masculinity.
