A bedtime story for children. Today, Emma is playing with her blocks, so focused: a red block, a blue block, a yellow block, one on top of the other. She is so busy with her tower that she doesn't even think about her pacifier. It stays in its little box the whole time. Mom notices, and she says it gently: look how well you're playing, all by yourself, without your pacifier.

"Pacifier night-night. Not now," says Emma, a little proud. And Mom answers: "It's your choice, sweetheart. Nice and slow, at your own pace." She puts the pacifier away in a pretty box, the one for big moments, without another word. At bedtime, Emma takes her pacifier for the night, quite naturally, and no one says a thing. There is no rule tonight, just small steps. Then Emma falls asleep with Mochi, her lovey.

In the Evening World, Pantin and Nina have both noticed something lovely. Pantin has an idea from back in his day: an honor cushion, for those who work a little less, but very well. Nina brings a little square of soft cloth, sets it on the shelf and smooths it, once, twice, until it is perfect. The pacifier can rest there during the day, whenever it wants. But tonight, it stays with Emma. No one is making it leave. Ball gives a little celebration boing, and Mochi calls it an honor cushion for one tiny giant step.

This pacifier weaning story never pushes. It celebrates the first small moment without the pacifier and leaves the rest for later. Your child hears that big milestones are made of tiny steps, and that going at your own pace is allowed. Parents get a gentle, pressure-free way to talk about the pacifier.

Mochi opens his Cuddle Box and picks this morning's hug, when Mom said: it's your choice. Deep at the bottom, there is also an older yarn ball, from Emma's very first little step, long ago. The first step, the first word, the first night without a pacifier: all the same, all precious, says Nina. Pantin falls asleep in the middle of his sentence, and the poc-poc slows down. In the morning, a tiny cushion waits on the shelf for next time. Not today, maybe. Not tomorrow either. But one day, at her own pace.

No one takes the pacifier away, and no one says a big girl has to stop. It's Emma who says not now, and Mom who answers it's your choice: this way of trusting a small child's own rhythm is the whole spirit of Tilibou bedtime stories. And all the while, on the shelf, the honor cushion waits patiently, never in a hurry, just like everyone in the Evening World.

A screen-free lovey story for children from age 2, perfect to enjoy warm and cozy at bedtime, in the car, or before a nap. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music, so your child can drift off to sleep without waking anyone up. 🧸
