Pour éclaircir un peu le ton actuel de ZERO TO ONE, je me suis dit que j’allais faire un petit retour à la thématique historique et publier l’épisode d’Yvonne, l’une des femmes les plus importantes de ma vie, enregistré à Kuala Lumpur en janvier dernier. Dans cet épisode, Yvonne nous raconte la découverte de sa grossesse avec la panoplie de tests, dont les teintes de plus en plus foncées venaient apaiser ses doutes, de l’intuition assez ouf de sa bf Nabila (que j’ai eu la chance d’interviewer en 2023), de son travail de boss bitch avec des horaires qui ne sont pas des 9 to 5 mais des 5 to 1, pas si mal pour passer un début de journée tranquille. On parle aussi de cicatrice de césarienne infectée provoqué par les plats gingembrés de sa confinement lady et de la gestion assez intense du tirage de lait.

Intro in French, but basically here’s what I’m saying: This season, ZERO TO ONE has taken a different turn exploring darker topics and giving myself more freedom with both format and publishing schedule.

It’s also been a pretty intense year as a podcast producer, I’ve been working on two daily shows and have published over 300 episodes (I think?). I also helped my first client produce her own podcast.

So I’m allowing myself a real break this July while I’m in France. Last time I was there, I worked six weeks straight from midnight to 4 am. My mood was not great and it definitely didn’t do any good for my mental health (or my relationship)...

To bring a bit of lightness back to ZERO TO ONE, I thought I’d return to the original theme and share an episode with Yvonne, one of the most important women in my life. We recorded her story last January in Kuala Lumpur. In this episode, Yvonne tells us about finding out she was pregnant just days before her wedding, the dozens of pregnancy tests she took, where the darker the line, the more real it felt, the amazing intuition of her best friend Nabila (whom I had the chance to interview in 2023) and her boss b*tch work life with a schedule not from 9 to 5, but from 5 PM to 1 AM, which actually turned out to be quite convenient for enjoying slower paced mornings during pregnancy. We also talked about her C-sec getting infected from all the sweat triggered by gingery dishes during her confinement period and the hard reality of managing milk pumping.
