In today’s episode, I talked to Founder and Executive Chairman of Moven (https://www.linkedin.com/company/moven/), Brett King (https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettking), to discuss the evolving role of AI in finance as the world is impacted by pandemic. We dive into this topic by revisiting how the banking industry answered the call for modernization as technology soared in 2012, looking at ways for financial brands to once again adapt as individuals and businesses learn to navigate a Covid-19 world. I share insights into the evolving structure solutions financial brands will be contemplating as the demand for off-site banking develops in an uncertain time. The key insights in this episode, include: -The past and current state of digital banking -How AI will bolster the banking industry in a Covid19 world -Brett King’s upcoming book, “The Rise of Techno Socialism” (https://www.bookdepository.com/Rise-Techno-Socialism-Brett-King/9789814868952) This episode is hosted by James Robert Lay (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jrwlay/) Founder and CEO at Digital Growth Institute (https://www.linkedin.com/company/cu-grow/) You can find this interview, and many more, by subscribing to the Banking on Digital Growth on Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/banking-on-digital-growth/id1498837117), Stitcher (https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/banking-on-digital-growth) on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/6ml7uCQ7HoVvWTYUNpdUfS), Google Play (https://play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#/ps/Imta625jbuu67ygdt5vcyrb362q) or here (https://www.digitalgrowth.com/podcast). What can we do moving forward to effectively break free from the confusion and chaos of the Covid-19 crisis? How can financial brands move forward and guide people in the communities they serve with confidence in this brave new world? In this episode I think through the question on everyone’s mind right now. What should we do next? How do we move forward with confidence in a post-COVID-19 world? Plus we take a look at a key strategic lesson I’ve learned from watching one of my kids favorite movies (Frozen 2). The key insights I share in this episode, include: -Guiding others in a time of confusion and chaos -Tips for how to open a dialogue with account holders in a new way -How important courage is. In 2010, Google calculated the number of books ever published to be an impressive 130M. So, the question is: Does the world really need another book? Specifically, does it need another marketing book? It’s a question I grappled with while writing my upcoming book “Banking on Digital Growth (https://www.digitalgrowth.com/banking-on-digital-growth-book),” well before COVID-19 hit. Ultimately, I realized I needed to write it to help financial brands unlock the secrets of digital growth. In today’s episode, I explain why it’s even more important now. Has anyone ever pushed you into a cold lake you were too scared to jump into? Once you get over the initial shock, you find yourself happy to be in the water. Well, COVID-19 has pushed people into new financial waters — and they’re already getting over the shock. At least, that’s how my guest, Jim Marous (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jimmarous/), Host of the Banking Transformed Podcast (https://thefinancialbrand.com/podcasts/), sees our current situation. I sat down — remotely, of course — to learn why he believes the “new normal” we’ve adapted to will eventually just become, well... normal. We went over: -Why your adaptability quotient trumps EQ or IQ -Why the changes brought by COVID-19 are here to stay -Why now is the best time to try something new You can find this interview, and many more, by subscribing to Banking on Digital Growth on Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/banking-on-digital-growth/id1498837117), on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/6ml7uCQ7HoVvWTYUNpdUfS), or here (https://www.digitalgrowth.com/podcast). Today, I’m going to answer a simple question: What is digital growth? Only, I’ve answered this question before, in another version of this podcast. A version recorded before COVID-19. I’m James Robert Lay (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jrwlay/), CEO of Digital Growth Institute and host of Banking on Digital Growth. In the past few months, we’ve all had to learn to do things differently. And this podcast is no exception. In fact, we recorded 10 episodes before the crisis began. But then we hit the pause button on the launch and started over. It’s not that digital growth changed, just the context. In this episode, I go over: -Why there is so much confusion over digital growth for financial brands -How the current crisis is making digital growth more important than ever -Our definition of digital growth for banks and credit unions -What to expect in the future You can find this interview, and many more, by subscribing to Banking on Digital Growth on Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/banking-on-digital-growth/id1498837117), on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/6ml7uCQ7HoVvWTYUNpdUfS), or here (https://www.digitalgrowth.com/podcast). The financial industry is rapidly changing and the traditional growth models no longer work. Consumers make purchasing decisions before ever walking into a physical branch — if they even do at all. The competition is changing, too. Mobile banking and digital lending have already taken over. That can leave some financial marketers and sales teams scratching their heads in confusion and frustration. That’s why I started the #BankingOnDigitalGrowth podcast: To help simplify their lives. I’m James Robert Lay (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jrwlay), CEO of Digital Growth Institute (https://www.linkedin.com/company/cu-grow/), and I’m on a mission to elevate the entire industry into a successful pathway for digital growth. In this episode, I discuss what’s in store for listeners in upcoming episodes, including: Insights and proven ideas (that actually work) to promote digital growth My personal journey and tips from my upcoming book, Banking on Digital Growth Interviews with leading fintech, martech and sales tech leaders that glean lessons from their digital growth journeys As a bonus, you’ll also find out how my college punk band kick-started my personal journey in digital growth (and, yes, my marriage).
