Pour cette 5ème Archive, nous sommes de retour à Londres afin d’interviewer Martine Rose, men’s wear designer. L'enregistrement a lieu dans son studio, deux jours après le show privé AW2024. Le studio et l’équipe sont encore sous l’effervescence du week-end… Nous discutons de ses débuts en 2007, de son ascension lente comme elle aime en parler qui lui a laissé la place d’échouer, d’essayer, le tout sans être sous le feu des projecteurs. Nous abordons la question des “collaborations” et comment celles-ci ont aidé sa marque à rester viable dans le temps. Martine est très honnête sur les difficultés qu’elle a pu rencontrer mais aussi sur l’importance du soutien de ses proches. Nous évoquons aussi au fil de la discussion, ses inspirations qui depuis le début se trouvent chez son entourage, ses cousins, la scène clubbing, le caractère politique de son travail qu’elle laisse aux autres le soin de nommer comme tel.

For this 5th Archive, we're back in London to interview menswear designer Martine Rose. The recording takes place in her studio, two days after the AW2024 private show. The studio and team are still buzzing from the weekend... We discuss her beginnings in 2007, her slow ascent as she likes to say, which left her room to fail, to try, all the while in the spotlight. We talk about "collaborations" and how these have helped her brand remain viable over time. Martine is very honest about the difficulties she may have encountered, but also about the importance of support from those close to her. We also discuss her inspirations, which from the outset have come from her entourage, her cousins, the clubbing scene, and the political nature of her work, which she leaves to others to name as such.
