Subscribe now and don't miss an episode of Indie Board Session, your front row seat to expert advice. Hi everyone and welcome to Indie Board Session. To kick things off, I had the absolute pleasure of being interviewed by Andrew Gazdecki. If you don't know Andrew, he's the CEO and founder of Acquire.com. As you'll see, this introduction is short and straight to the point. A warm-up before episode one.

So, Pascal, tell me, why this podcast?
- Speaker #0
This podcast comes from my conversations with many indie hackers and bootstrap founders. When I talk to them, I often realize how lonely it can be to run your company and not really have the benchmarks from all the VCs and the board. meetings that you can have when you're a VC-funded company. And so I wanted to provide them with, to give them an opportunity to have like a board-like structure where they could come with their problems and have experts come help them solve their biggest challenges.
- Speaker #1
I love the sound of that. In terms of, you know, challenges, problems that bootstrappers and indie hackers may have, what are you going to be talking about in this podcast?
- Speaker #0
It depends. I mean, sometimes it's going to be about finding a second wind of growth. Once you've done the SEO stuff, how do you go into enterprise, for example. Sometimes it's going to be about how do you plan an exit, which is something that you know about. Sometimes it's about how do I start hiring a team? How do I start a community? Or how do I empower that community that I have built? benefit from it the same way that the notion or others have benefited from it in the past. So the idea is that for every podcast, it will be a guest. They'll come, talk about their situation, their challenges, and then a combination of an expert that I will select, that can come from my team, that can come from people I know, or myself and myself, both of us, will come and be there to provide feedback. an actionable help to the founders.

This sounds incredibly helpful. Who should listen to this podcast?

I think that if you are building a SaaS, a bootstrap SaaS especially, from the moment you're doing, you have some semblance of product market fit, so maybe $5,000 of MRR or more, I think that you will find something that is interesting, either in the wins, but the... Founders have already accomplished and in the challenges that they're facing, because these challenges can happen at different stages and will have founders at different stages from some that are doing millions of dollars of ARR and some that are more in the hundreds of dollars of ARR.

I'm really excited for this. Why are you launching this podcast?
- Speaker #0
For two reasons. The first one is really because I think that... If you listen to all the indie podcasts, there are lots of interviews. Many of them are interesting, but it can be a little bit frustrating because it's mostly about the wins. And what is interesting is really the challenges, because that's what you learn. So that's, I think, one area that I thought was missing in the market, I would say. The second thing is that people often come to me for advice. And I said, OK, I'm giving advice already. I might as well do it in a podcast so that it can be useful to more people. And the third part is that while I'm one of the people giving advice, I'm also bringing guests. And these guests, they give advice that I would not have thought of, and I'm learning. And that can be useful for companies that we buy at NuCell Labs or others. So overall, I think it's a learning opportunity for me and doing something that I do naturally. So it's a good combo.

I would definitely agree with that. You always learn the most from mistakes and the hard lessons you go through as an entrepreneur. Tell me, when was the first episode, first air?
- Speaker #0
In January, mid-January. We don't know, I can't tell you the exact date today, but mid-January. So it will be available on my socials, on LinkedIn, Twitter, X, Blue Sky, and YouTube, and probably also on Apple Podcasts and Spotify and everywhere you listen to podcasts.

All right. I'm looking forward to it.
