Description

Dr. Louise Lubin is a licensed clinical psychologist in Norfolk, Virginia who has practiced adult, marital, and family therapy for nearly forty years. With her focus on survivorship in chronic and life-threatening illnesses, she developed programs and a website “Many Paths to Healing” for hospital systems and physician groups to provide patients with the necessary tools to cope and manage the challenges of illness. She is a retired Community Faculty at the Eastern Virginia Medical School and a lifetime member of the American Psychological Association and the National Register of Health Providers. She has recently published, Your Journey Beyond Breast Cancer- Tools for the Road- an interactive guide for women at any stage of their cancer journey.

A few highlights from the show:

1. Cancer demands that you learn how to take care of yourself, communicate, and ask for what you need. You must be assertive!

2. We have control over what we "think" is happening to us.

3. It is counterproductive to feel guilty about having cancer.

4. People need to take their cues from the patient.

5. Listen has the same letters as silent!

🦄About Me:

In 2011, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, out of the blue. I did not have any prior health concerns or issues. Fast forward, the dreaded cancer diagnosis opened my eyes, introduced me to my purpose, and lead me to where I am today.

As a Cancer Doula, I use my 11 years of experience with cancer to support and guide others diagnosed with cancer. Many people are not familiar with what a cancer doula is. Think of me as your personal guide and patient advocate. Schedule a 30-minute Meet and Greet call to learn more. https://bit.ly/OTOSDiscovery
