Description

What if one tiny moment of pure joy—just for you—could transform your entire day? In this episode of The Pulse, I’m sharing a simple but powerful practice I’ve embraced for years: doing one thing per day that’s solely for my joy. No goals. No productivity. No apologies.

From sipping hot chocolate during a Harry Potter marathon to running outside with my dog just because it feels fun, these moments aren’t about achievement—they’re about reclaiming my time, my happiness, and my peace. Especially during busy or tough seasons, these little pockets of joy act like a reset button. They remind me that I’m more than my to-do list, and so are you.

In this episode, I’ll share:

  • Why "just for me" moments matter (even if they seem silly).

  • How to carve out joy in 5 minutes—or less.

  • Why these moments are especially powerful in winter (hello, shorter days and cozy vibes!).

  • My challenge to you: Try one joyful, expectation-free moment today. No pressure—just pure you.

Because life isn’t just about the big wins. It’s about the small, sparkly moments that make it all worthwhile.

Hi, welcome to The Pulse. I hope you're doing well. I'm Julie, your host, and today we are recording another episode of PodMos. One thing that I've put in place, and I've already started to do that two years ago, and I wanted to share with you today, is the fact that I do one thing per day for me. And I think it sounds potentially like, huh, yeah. Me too, I do. But do you truly do? Because here, I'm not talking about something that you have to do, something that is planned in your agenda, that is also related to someone else. It's, I mean, really something that is only for you, that has zero goal, zero objective. And I know it sounds silly when we talked about goals, and we talk on this podcast about personal and professional growth, right? But I try to do one thing per day that is truly for me. And it can be something that's going to take a minute, something that might take five, or sometime it's going to take an hour. But something that is truly for me, for my personal joy, for my personal well-being. And I can give you some examples. Sometime it's eating my favorite candy, or it is listening to a silly podcast, or it is to... run for 30 seconds with my dog just for fun and just because I wanted to run or to read my favorite book again or like a page of my favorite book or like I'm currently doing I mean I'm recording this podcast the weekend before the first of December and what I like to do once a year is to do a Harry Potter weekend I like Harry Potter and so what I organized is from Friday to Sunday. Like three movies on day one, three movies on day two, and the last two on the Sunday evening. And this is a moment that is pure joy. I invite people so people can enjoy, can decide or not. But it doesn't matter if they join or not. I don't care. I just want to do it. It's a pure pleasure. It has zero impact. I'm not growing. I'm not developing another movie by heart. But it's just a moment for me to enjoy. It's the same thing like drinking hot chocolate instead of a tea or whatever else. but once per day I really take that moment of doing something that is purely for my enjoyment with zero impact on any of my goals on any anybody else is fully fully for me whatever it is so I'm talking to you about this by doing that for me I have felt like it was giving me that space to be me and I'm part of unapologetically without apologizing I'm gonna say that that way it's gonna be easier and to be able to truly have this pure moment of joy with no expectation it's really refreshing I feel since I started it it has given me that that mini space to for a moment of breather in a way so I just wanted to to share it with you just to help with your reflection I know we have busy life so sometimes it's it's not easy but just making the choice this morning I'm going to take I don't know another route because I want to I want to take I'm going to be a bit slower because this morning I just want to relax could also also be it but having that space to have that that moment for yourself within the day for something very personal and very enjoyable I feel like it has a bit shifted some of my days to, um, to feel better in in moment of toughness we have busy life we have heavy life everyone it's not easy and some are some moments are harder some moments are easier so having those moments of pure joy can sometimes help right it's a bit of that kids like silliness moment of of enjoyment that i would at least i would recommend you can decide if this is something for you or not but yeah I feel like this has brought on some moments of joy, of moment of rest, of peace in moments where that had been difficult today, that have been difficult. And even doing it in days that are good reminds me that I can still find even better joy in good days. No way. So, for example, I'm having a tea right now, but I can tell you, like, I mean, I have the Harry Potter movies at the moment. So definitely some good stuff. But I'm still gonna... make a hot chocolate, I think, for the first movie. It's going to be around 5 p.m. So, and yeah, spicing your life with little joy like this can sometimes be helpful also when it's dark outside in the wintertime. It's not always easy to handle the shorter days and melatonin on your mood can be down. So think about it sometime having that mini enjoyment. And I'm not talking about scrolling on social media, by the way, because we all know how this can be quite negative. But I'm talking about a pure moment for you. And yeah, as I said, a couple of minutes per day. I hope you liked today's episode. I hope you take care of yourself and you take the time for that little moment. I wish you a very nice day and talk to you soon. Bye.
