Thank you for coming on Onyx. What are your top three favorite strip clubs in Las Vegas and why?
- Speaker #1
Spearmint Rhino number one. Peppermint Hippo would be my number two. I haven't danced there in a long time, but that used to be one of my other clubs, but Crazy Horse 3.
- Speaker #0
What's the best strip club that takes Groupon? The financial side of being a stripper. Do you say, heaven forbid I get hurt, something happens. I'm going to take six months of bills and I'm going to keep that in cash.
- Speaker #1
The name of the... game is you just work as much and you make as much as you can in one night the goal is to never be the 40 year old stripper of course right what was the most amount of money you ever made in one shift i think um in one shift i probably made about like welcome
- Speaker #2
to fog and twinks
- Speaker #0
This is Fargo Talks. And we are live, my dear. So thank you for coming on, Onyx.
- Speaker #1
Thank you for having me. This will be fun. I'm so excited.
- Speaker #0
This will be fun. I was saying before, I had on Brandon Johnson on before, Brandon from Vegas, about three weeks ago. And we were talking just about Vegas and nightlife and nightclubs, and we talked about strip joints. Came up.
- Speaker #1
I saw that.
- Speaker #0
Right? And so I was like, I would love to get a Vegas stripper. On the podcast.
- Speaker #1
Yes.
- Speaker #0
And lo and behold.
- Speaker #1
Because we need to redo that top three strip clubs.
- Speaker #0
Like that thing started. I was like, oh, boy. So I really thank you for coming in.
- Speaker #1
Yeah.
- Speaker #0
You know, you've been doing this for a little bit.
- Speaker #1
Oh, yeah.
- Speaker #0
Right?
- Speaker #1
Oh, yeah.
- Speaker #0
How long have you been in Vegas?
- Speaker #1
I've been in Vegas for like 10 years. And then I officially moved here about, so 2019 officially.
- Speaker #0
Okay.
- Speaker #1
So. It's been some time.
- Speaker #0
So long enough.
- Speaker #1
Yeah.
- Speaker #0
You've been here long enough to know what's going on. Oh, yeah. And were you in the stripper business? What do you call it?
- Speaker #1
Adult entertainment. Adult entertainment. It is a form of adult entertainment. Absolutely.
- Speaker #0
Yeah. Were you in the adult entertainment business prior to coming here?
- Speaker #1
No. So I was in nightlife in L.A. So I was a go-go dancer, and I also was a go-go dancer for Insomniac. like Electric Daisy Carnival. We did several festivals in Southern California, but they didn't pay a lot. And when I got into a really bad relationship and there was some trauma, betrayal and all that, I had a girlfriend, actually the girl who made my costumes for my dancers because I used to book dancers for at nightclub venues and music festivals right and the girl who made my costumes for my dancers she was the one who brought me to the strip club but in in la because there's always there's always a bad girl that you know brings you in and um i was so nervous but i was also like i you know i needed money i had i had a crazy ex that was stalking me and she was like just just come to work with me one day and I was like, God, I was like, I can't do that. But at the time I was 24 and I was like, you know what? I work out. I'm good. You know, got my bills paid. I'm like, and I went and I made $600 like my first night. And I thought that was like,
- Speaker #0
is that good money?
- Speaker #1
I mean, it was decent for what I had been doing because go-go dancing, you get $100 for doing four hours of dancing. And it's 20 minutes, that's 20 minute breaks. It's a lot of fucking dancing. And I had seven residencies throughout the week. So maybe in your 20s, that was great. But financially, I couldn't really do more than that. And we're talking about corporations. So. Sometimes if I was working for a venue that they wanted to do a net 30, I want to get paid until the end of the month. So it was a lot. So it was I did kind of learn how to hustle in that way. But when, you know, you go to work and you take your top off and stuff and then you you leave with six hundred dollars. And the first club I danced at, they were like, oh, girl, they're like, you're too cute to because it was all nude. um in california and she's like you should go to vegas it's 24 7 and it's only topless i was like oh yeah But the girl who took me to the club, for some reason, she didn't want to go and she had her own things going on. And I was just the more like rebel. And I also had like this fight or flight thing going on where I was like, fuck it, I'm going. Let's go. And I did. I had good friends who brought me to the right club that I'm still at to this day. and From there, I took their advice on, you know, they knew other dancers in town and they gave me, you know, some advice on how to do it successfully. And I just, I did it. I did. And, you know, one of the guys told me, he goes, if you dance every Thursday to Saturday without fail, you'll be successful. He's like, you just. He said, Sunday, you can choose or decide if you want to work it. He's like, but Thursday to Saturday, do not miss. And that's what I did. And even like when I was younger, like when I first started, because the club I'm at, Spearmint Rhino, like we have to do six hours. So I would be so crazy that like after I do my six hours, I would even go to another club and go work more just because at the time I didn't have a kid. I was Just trying to stack as much as possible and also try to absorb. I was trying to absorb as much as all this new knowledge of being a dancer.
- Speaker #0
Sure. And when you, on the business side, the financial side of being a stripper, do you say, all right, I'm going to keep, in case, heaven forbid, I get hurt, something happens. I'm going to take six months of bills and I'm going to keep that in cash, like in my mattress.
- Speaker #1
I mean, theoretically, you should do that. But really what you have to understand is it's such a fast paced life. And also when you're coming from nothing and you're trying to, you know, pick up, you know, I rented a room out here. Like at a time I was like staying with friends and they were amazing friends, but they were just always partying. So I found a room to rent for like 600 bucks. And I still had my place in LA. And so I would rent the room. So it's like, I didn't have to deal with the hotel. I don't have to deal with like people partying or being like, you know, an inconvenience to anybody. And I would just get a shoebox and I would just put money in there. And really like you, the name of the game is. you just work as much and you make as much as you can in one night. And whatever you come back with the next day, you just rubber band it, you put it in. So yes, I would keep a ledger. But sometimes, you know, it's life, you're living, you got to pay for food, you got to pay for this. Was it stupid? Did I spend a lot of money that I could have probably saved instead of buying dumb shit? Yes. But also, too, like, that's the beauty of being a dancer. Like, in the beginning, you're going to have these big highs, like, you're going to make the most amount of money, and you're going to think that you're just God. You're like, oh, I'm invincible. I could do whatever. But I remember when I started in the veteran girls, they were like, they're like, baby stripper. They're like, Save as much money as you can, because this is not this is going to be the most that you'll make. And I really took that like I, you know, I took it, but it kind of like went in one ear and out the other. And but it made me realize like, oh, shit, like when every year things were changing, you know, some girls who I would dance with, they would fall, you know, they would move on and transition out. So it's like you always got to have a plan to get out. I mean, the goal is to never be the 40-year-old stripper, of course, right? So you want to be smart, but it's important that as many good people that are coming in, especially businessmen, you take their advice. I had some amazing, you know, customers that are now good friends of mine that gave me. So much of a foundation to start saving, investing, being smart with my money, and really officializing myself. I'm not just a dancer. I'm a business. I'm a brand.
- Speaker #0
What is the single best piece of advice you ever received? being a stripper?
- Speaker #1
I had a good friend of mine who had a successful clothing brand and he told me you need to start your LLC, get an EIN number, get a business account. That was the most important thing. They tell you that like when you come to Vegas and stuff, like they bring it up, but then they're also like, oh, like if you want to pay for that, like your business license, you don't have to. But as it started to like be more. adult more mature especially being a mom that business license is so important and also like if get having my ein number that's how i got my child tax credit and um i know a lot of girls who are moms who don't understand how to get it and really i didn't even understand how to get it it just happened to already have that um i was i'm also a porn star so for me to have my business filing, that was important, but I didn't know that I had to learn eventually, oh, this can really even help with my dancing too. So that is the most important thing. Get your EIN number, get your business license, because also in different markets, you don't have that. Like New York or whatever, they don't make you get these sheriff's card and all this. I think there is others. states. I want to say, I think Oregon or might make you do that. But, and I could be wrong, but primarily in Vegas, you have to get a sheriff's card. That's most important. And you should get a business license. And that business license allows you to negotiate on the floor. When you go to other places, like, especially when I go to New York, I love New York and I'll be there in two weeks, but. You cannot negotiate your VIP prices. A host has to do it. So really, like Vegas is amazing because you don't have to worry about that. You can be the negotiator. Like it's really like an open field. But it's so important because even all these things, it helps in taxes. It helps, you know, getting an apartment, getting a car, you know, showing income. And Yes, you could still be the hustler. You could still be the dancer. But if you want to be an entrepreneur and you don't want to have to be like, oh, I got to get these pay stubs or I got to, you know, I've always known like sometimes there's a guy that can write up fake, fake stubs for you. Fuck that. Like you're a brand. You are a business front. Like be adult. Like be smart. As much money as you're going to make, officialize yourself.
- Speaker #0
What is and where was the most amount of money you've ever made stripping?
- Speaker #1
Vegas. Vegas. My home base. And I mean, I travel, so I do features. Now my agent will book me in different markets. And it's always interesting to go to other markets. Maybe New York has been a little bit. closer, except it's a different dynamic, different style. But Vegas, I mean, you got 24-7 clubs. When you come in, like, sure, if you have to do six hours or however many hours that they make you, but you could stay beyond that. And when I was younger, like when I first started, I would go in at 8, 30, 9 o'clock. And sometimes I would get out at like... 8 in the morning. I still do that sometimes, but I'll do 10 in the morning. One time I did 12 in the next day. And it was just because I'm going to stay as long as I have to and make the most amount of money.
- Speaker #0
What was the most amount of money you ever made in one shift?
- Speaker #1
I think shifts, I probably made about like $7,000.
- Speaker #0
That's pretty good.
- Speaker #1
And keep in mind, you know, that's probably like a big night. Maybe there's like a lot of things going on. I mean, you have to really be on point of your time. As much time as you're in there, you can't be talking to guys for so long and not getting nowhere. So you have to do boundaries, but you have to be on your ABCs. Always be selling no matter what it is. It could be. Anything, you know, I'm very connected with VIP hosts. I'm very connected with people who have access to like big restaurants, you know, want to get tickets to shows. So you can also sell beyond in the club. And we're not talking about sexual favors or anything like that. But like, hello, you got tourists coming. And if you're that Vegas dancer, well, you got to let them know I'm the plug. Like I know everybody. And if you want to get to somewhere, you know, you can sell other things and you can be like a host yourself.
- Speaker #0
Regarding the whole sexual favors thing, how do you handle it when somebody does cross the line, when a client customer crosses the line with you?
- Speaker #1
You just have to let them know I'm not that type of dancer. You're not worth me. One, I would never do that, but you're not worth me losing my job. And I get it that you're trying to get your little dick wet and whatever, but understand that what you're asking of me is a crime. And. that little short term game is going to be detrimental to my, you know, I'm shitting where I eat. Like, why would you do that? And I think every dancer shouldn't do that. However, I mean, does it happen? Yes. But you as a dancer to have respect from other dancers, because that fucks up the hustle in the club. And everybody, no matter what, you should be on the same playing field with that. If there's girls that are doing that, it's none of your business. Let them do that. They'll get caught up eventually and they'll have to learn their lesson. You know, right now we're having a lot of that going on. There's new dancers. They are newbies or they don't know stripper etiquette. They don't know nothing. So they think they're going to come in and do all this stuff. And it's like us veteran girls, like we can't see it. We see you. We see you. But we also have a lot more respect for ourselves because we know the laws. We know what vice does. We know that that's not important if you get fired from the club and you can't get back into the best clubs in Vegas. It hurts a lot. So I've gone to other clubs just to check it out because maybe I know managers. And then I'll see girls who used to dance at my club, but they're fired. So they can't go back to the club. But, you know. our club has, you know, the clientele volume is unbeatable. So it's tough. It makes it tougher.
- Speaker #0
Everywhere in the country that you've worked, where's your favorite place to work? Is it Vegas?
- Speaker #1
It's Vegas.
- Speaker #0
Okay. So then here's my follow-up. What are your top three favorite strip clubs in Las Vegas and why?
- Speaker #1
Okay. The top... Three favorite? My personal top three favorites? Um, I mean, I'm going to say Spearmint Rhino number one. How about this? Peppermint Hippo would be my number two. Okay. And for me, Dancing, what else? I would say number three. God. It's so hard because I should say other ones, but I haven't danced there in a long time, but that used to be one of my other clubs, but Crazy Horse 3.
- Speaker #0
Is it different from 3 to 1 if you're a guy coming to Vegas and going to a strip club is on your list? From 3 to 1, what are the top three?
- Speaker #1
As a man? Spearman Rhino, Sapphires, and Crazy Horse 3. Those are going to be the best clubs. Those are going to be the most girls. You know, every club, especially, I mean, Sapphire and Rhino, for sure. You're going to have the most amount of dancers. They have a very strict hiring process for both clubs. So you know that you're going to get top-tier girls. Our club is known for the prettiest girls. We do have a good selection of girls. But also, the VIPs are going to be at a good price. You're going to get a good service. You're going to have a good experience if you have standards. If you're not the want to save a buck type of guy, want to get that deal, we're not for you. because most of the guys know that they're... coming to spend money and they're coming to have a great experience. So those kind of lowball guys, they could go to the lowball clubs. I mean, that's the beauty of Vegas. There's many different places for them to go. But if they are this high value man and they want to go into the, you know, get the you know you want men usually want to get good watches good cars like you would want to go to the club with the best dancers uh what's the best strip club that takes groupon tell me tell me tell me if i if i was a budget if i was a budget conscious guy and i want to go to a strip club what's the number one place you'd recommend little darlings why Because there's no alcohol. and they have them you could do um if you do a feature there they're amazing people um and the management are so great but yeah there's no alcohol they have the best sign their sign is right up the 15 their sign is the best yes the i think they they had a little fight with like nevada dot they're they were doing like a sign competition it was really funny um
- Speaker #0
Let's talk about, because you feature around the country, right? Where is your favorite place to work aside from Las Vegas as a stripper and why?
- Speaker #1
New York.
- Speaker #0
Why?
- Speaker #1
New York because one, it's very different. You don't need as many girls, but the quality of clientele are amazing. but it's also like It's very different. New York is not a weekend type of club. You want to dance during the weekday. And you never know. Maybe a Wall Street guy or a CEO or whatever, he'll literally block off the whole thing, the whole club. And also, they have really great deals for dancers. Like if you sell a bottle, they give you money back for that. It's very competitive. There's been a lot of controversy as waitresses make, you know, they're kind of being competitive with the dancers and the dancers are pissed because they're like, well, if you're just the waitress and you're trying to take this customer, why don't you be a dancer? So there's a fight between that. I first like I first heard about it. And then when I went out there and I saw it, I understand because it is a little difficult. You can't. personally sell the VIPs. You do have to have a host and then the guy gets a bottle and stuff, and then the waitress is there. But it's also, I'm from Vegas, so I know about hospitality. So I know, well, I'm going to make friends with some of these waitresses. I'm going to work with them. I'm going to also make friends with this host. If this guy is going to be selling, hey, we're a team effort. You want money? I want money. Let's all get it together. Also, the cost... The lifestyle in New York is much more expensive than what it is here on the West Coast. So it's great because you're always going to have like a New Yorker. Like you'll tell them the pride. They don't give a fuck. They're like, yeah, whatever. Like, let's go. And so it's like it's nice to see that because I have a lot of regulars that I've made from here. And so when I go out there, I get to be in their world. And it's just so like. It's sophisticated, classy. It's different style, but it is one of my favorites.
- Speaker #0
So in traveling, you say that New York is your favorite place to work. Where is your favorite strip club? What is your favorite strip club in New York?
- Speaker #1
Oh, my favorite strip club? Sapphire 60 was my favorite. I mean, it still is. It's still one of my favorites. There's a steakhouse in there and stuff. But I've been seeing like other strip clubs. So we just had a Spearmint Rhino open out there and I did a shoot. I got to go out there and that was really interesting. So very, you know, it's brand new. So it's the new kid on the block. But aside from the strip clubs, there's a lot of different things to do in New York that makes it so fun. I know a lot of good friends. I have a lot of speakeasy clubs. I have good friends, Aster Club and Happy Monkey. If you're in New York, you kind of know who they are, but they're more in the cannabis scene. So yeah, I just love it. I just love the speakeasy vibe.
- Speaker #0
I love your brain because we've talked a while now. We've been talking, we're going back and forth for a while. And so I'm a fan of, you're a student of the game. Okay. And I give credit where credit's due. And that's why this is a entrepreneurial podcast. Given that, I want you to walk me through kind of, it's called like a sales funnel.
- Speaker #2
Yeah.
- Speaker #0
So if a guy walks in and say it's the rhino here in Las Vegas, guy walks in, sits down, what's your sales funnel to get him to pay for a dance at the table, to get him to go into the VIP room? How much is a dance? At just a table, how much is a VIP room? How do you get him to spend as much money as possible?
- Speaker #1
So there is a process to it. First, I would sit with him and I would just talk to him. I would just build rapport, you know, not even ask for anything right away. Ten minute max, right? And then at that point, I'll be like, you know, oh, I'm sorry. I have to get back to work. You know, I want him to feel special. And then I will do the sales pitch on him of, you know, if you want to do a dance, we can do it here or we can go into some special rooms. So it's it all depends. Let's say the guy, you know, maybe he doesn't want to do the VIPs right away. And I'll say, well, you know, you can get a dance here, but it's not going to be as, um, um. as a great experiences in the private rooms, but you could still get like a taste of what it's like, right? A little preview. And, um, then I'll sell the dances and there's like a few tiers of dances that I will sell on the floor. Um, and it's up to him, but at the end of the day, remembering their name, that's a big plus. having a drink with them or doing something. I've even had it where like guys, you can't smoke in the clubs anymore, but it used to like guys would come in with cigars and I used to like light them and stuff like that. If you do things like that and you make them feel very like, you know, like a man, like a gentleman, like a king, you know, those little things go a long way and then they will want to do a VIP or even if a guy's declines, don't get mad. You can't get emotional. Maybe the guy goes, oh, I just got here. If you come back, you know, come back and see me. So then I will circle about and you have to understand the club is so big, but also like we have lights going on. I know the blueprint of that floor so well. So I'll do some circle around. Also, too, if other ladies go up to them, I'll kind of like watch to see if he initially takes them and whatever. So but yeah, you go back and then when you sometimes when you actually do remember to go back, they they notice that and then they want to do a dance. So there's there's a few levels. I don't want to put all my tricks out there, but it most important. Build a rapport. Don't even ask for anything right away. And I've noticed this in like my years in this game and kind of seeing things. Some girls just do not know how to start a conversation without talking about the transactions of dancing. Just start a conversation. Build a rapport. Because there's a lot of guys that go, well, this girl was trying to get... dancer i mean she didn't even know my name you know men are already guarded up you know they already feel they they hate the transaction they don't want it to feel transactional so when a girl comes up and she's just like hey you want to go in the vip of course he's gonna say no it's like well first off that's a privilege to go in the vip it's not before we thought man come on man exactly i mean buy me dinner man come on
- Speaker #0
Come on. Come on, y'all.
- Speaker #1
It moves me a little. Yeah, it moves me.
- Speaker #0
You know?
- Speaker #1
You know? And it's just also, too, I had a great guy one time when I was, like, new. And the guy was, like, and I learned he does this to all the newbies that come into the club. But it is good insight. He goes, why are you so interested to get me in the VIP, right? And I was, like, well, I mean, of course. And so then he goes, Just stay with me. We ended up doing...
- Speaker #0
five like we did like five songs for like a hundred at the time you know dances were like twenty dollars um a song the good old days and so that yeah all the good old days guy goes see when we did five songs he's like you're getting a hundred dollars i don't have to buy drinks you know obviously we had drinks he's like but now it's better for your time because you could just do these five dances with me now. You got your $100, so you don't have to go to the $100 rooms. He's like, but if you did that multiple times, he's like, just think about that instead of always putting this importance of going to the VIP. And I was like, oh, shit. And so there is always a way. Don't ever take a no. I mean, the number one rule as a dancer is a no is never a no. You can persuade the guy to say yes. or you can sell him another option.
- Speaker #1
Do you, growing up, not growing up, but being in a business now for a while, have you become friends with other strippers?
- Speaker #0
Of course.
- Speaker #1
So who are the top, aside from yourself, top three strippers in Las Vegas?
- Speaker #0
Honestly, I can't say that there's just like well-known. stripper. Oh,
- Speaker #1
no, I don't mean, I'm sorry, I don't mean like well-known, but just girls that you're like, man, they're good, and they provide a great service, they're gorgeous, they treat this like a craft, it's an art form. Who are your top three favorite in Vegas?
- Speaker #0
Girls that I work with in my club, you know, the reason why they are so good, and we're all so different, but so the same. We make sure. that we're coming in, we got the hair done, we got the nails done, outfit is on point. And we first meet at the bar and we kind of start there, but we guard that dome. Like that's our starting point. Anybody who's walking in our peripheral, we're grabbing them. And then what's cool is when we're working and maybe... we need to separate or maybe like one girl has a guy we're working on. We try to like get us all as a group, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. And then after we do our thing, we come meet back up and like my home girls, I know when they're there and I'm just like, those are my girls. And I know that if we're on the floor. We got the whole grounds and we're letting people know, okay, we got this convention in or I was at that back bar. This guy, this guy was trash or maybe there's some potential. And then we just, we kind of like hone in, like, like we're doing a SWAT. Like, you know, we're about to break in a house. Like we're ready to go. We got the mission. Like, that's what I love. I love my girls that are not just here. You know, they're not coming to the club. party and drink. Like we are there on a mission. We're all going to work together to make as much money as we need to for, for, you know, we have lives outside of the club, but we know, Hey girl, if I got a call or if I'm in a group and maybe their friend needs a friend, I'm calling you or, you know, whatever. So we all work together. So like those, those are my home girls.
- Speaker #1
Who are they? Name names.
- Speaker #0
Uh, my Devin, my girl joy. Um, I have, uh, gosh, um, it joy is my girl, my girl Veda. She moved to Detroit, but that was my home girl. Um, it's, they're just like dancers here. They're not, they're not on my same level, but shout out to my girls. Those are my girls. Yeah.
- Speaker #1
That's awesome. What is your, cause you've been in the business for a while.
- Speaker #0
what's your wildest story oh god like number one wildest story being a stripper oh um my wildest story um my favorite regular and he's still my regular 10 years almost 11 years but i was working all right i was working the floor at rhino and then this uh host was like hey he like pointed at these guys. He's like, check these guys. And I didn't know. And so they just bought a bottle like on the floor. So I'm talking to the guy and he was getting so like wasted. And I ended up selling him a VIP in the champagne room. And in the champagne room, you have to get a. If you want to do like curtain clothes, you have to buy on top of the VIP price. You have to get a bottle that's 500. So the guy, his friends like separated. He literally had just bought this bottle and he didn't even check if his friends were there to take care of the bottle. I got him in the VIP and this is the funniest thing. He was so wasted and every time the bouncer would be like, okay, your hour's up. I think we did about like five hours, but he was so scared of the bouncer to come back and he'd be like, oh, he's like, and the guy's like, do you want to extend? You're like, yeah, go ahead. And he and then he kept coming. He's like, I want to just like leave us alone. I'm like, you keep telling him to extend. He's like, really? I do.
- Speaker #1
That's hilarious. Actually, it's fucking hilarious.

Because now when he comes in, I haven't got him to like. do that again. Now he like he remembers he goes, Yeah, I saw my bill, I bought a bottle, but I had bought a whole other bottle that I don't even remember drinking. And but we just have such a great relationship that he knows like, no matter what, like, I probably could have robbed him even more, how vulnerable he was. But I was so thankful, appreciative of the time. So every year he comes out, I'm his Vegas girl. That's awesome. That was definitely one of my funniest times.
- Speaker #1
You have people from all over the country that are clients, and you're traveling all over the place. Is there certain things you notice culturally, like guys from New York are different than guys from Oklahoma, are different from guys from L.A. that are coming here to Vegas? What are some things you notice about?
- Speaker #0
men from all over the country that makes them different when they come here you know it's really funny so any east coaster in new york boston those are money guys like those guys they they have this like i don't give a fuck attitude what the price is i love that love london people from the uk they're like that as well um you know they already have this like life that they pay that's very expensive. ironically but i i also know this i'm from southern california anybody from california are cheap ass motherfuckers or they will try to get like a bang for their buck not all but for the most that's what they do um chicagans are fucking amazing because they're so nice chicagans and canadians are so fucking nice And they're just like, they're all about hospitality, having a good vibe and stuff that it could go a long way. I always love it when I meet a Canadian. But Miami people, I love Miami, but I also feel like Miami people like hate Vegas. They feel like Vegas is like too slow. And I've gone to Miami. I've danced in Miami. So now I understand. They're so like egotistical or like materialistic. So they sometimes they'll like flash their money, but they won't like spend. But you can get some of them. And I mean, it's just so hard. Alaskans. Oh, my God. If you buy an Alaskan, save that person because they're like a fisherman and they probably have been to sea.
- Speaker #1
but they make great money so just to be like with a girl is like amazing follow-up question about uh men from alaska if you're giving a uh private dance to a man from alaska and you get close does he smell like salmon no he doesn't i
- Speaker #0
mean they talk about like this job and and it's really like deadly jobs and stuff like that. Like I actually I ended up watching like a Discovery Channel thing on it. And I'm like, well, shit, no wonder why that guy's got so much money. But so I give a lot of respect to them. But I mean, overall, like men from all over, I've had men from Switzerland who are really nice. Japan, China, it really doesn't matter. I mean, it's all about vibes and communicating, but also like you have to be in this like fine line between not too aggressive, still being aggressive, holding your ground, like holding what your value is, but also not selling yourself short.
- Speaker #1
If, and I want to get into a little bit like best practices for somebody going into a strip joint and into a strip club.
- Speaker #0
As a customer?
- Speaker #1
As a customer. Okay. Yeah. that if I'm going into a strip club... What are some do's and do nots?
- Speaker #0
Okay. Some do's, when you walk in, just because girls are coming at you, right when you walk in, you are not obligated to give them dances. And it is okay to say, no, thank you. But the best way to do it, because I actually have a lot of guys that go, I don't know how to say no. You just say, no, thank you. Or we're just going to have a drink. Maybe come back. That's always the cue. And the girl will go away. Maybe she will come back. But also too, like I've noticed that a lot of guys when they first come in, take your drink. Like it is okay to come in, get your drink. You don't need to get into it yet. Get the lay of the land. Check it out. But also too, this is your hard-earned money. Make the girl earn it. And also... When you're going to get a dance with a girl, it should be a dancer that is actually making you excited, that you are attracted to. Otherwise, if you want to be nice and you have money to blow and you understand that women are here working, yes, you could do that. But understand there's a lot of dancers, so you're going to go burn through your money. So it depends on your budget. but a great deal. I've also noticed like guys will sit there and maybe they just have this vibe like we don't we can't get a reading off them or maybe we can see that they're no money or they're not going to be a lot of money. But you want girls to come to you, get a stack of get a hundred ones or whatever, and literally just put it on your table and that's it. And the girls will come. Doesn't mean girls can just come and grab it, but if you want a nonverbal way to say, hey, hi, I want dances, easy like that.
- Speaker #1
What a great way to put a worm on the hook. God damn it, Onyx. I fucking love that. Okay, what are the big do-nots when you are a customer at a strip club?
- Speaker #0
Do not ask girls if we want to meet with you outside of the club. to go on a date or dinner or whatever. Hello. Obviously, you know what the thing is. Like we're not, this isn't Tinder dating. We're not speed dating. Yes, we are here to take your money and you are here to give money. Understand that. Women are doing this to obviously to provide for their life or whatever. If we wanted a boyfriend who comes to the strip club, I'm sure we can find plenty of those. Don't ask for girls to fuck in the VIP. Even if you find a girl who does. Like, gross. Who is the, like, who do you think, what cleanup crew we have? That's just gross. Is there cameras in the VIPs? Yes. No girl wants to risk their fucking job for your, you know, horniness. Like, come on. Be a man. Jerk off before you come into the clubs. You can contain yourself.
- Speaker #1
So I have a buddy of mine taught me this is years ago. I've been a strip joint in 14 years myself, like you're 15 years, but he would go to Tampa, Mons Venus in Tampa, which is famous, right? My buddy, Todd Lexer, that went to St. John Fisher college together. He's like Fargo. You got to go to Mons Venus. You get yourself a little chubbed up. You put a rubber on. You were a quarter Royce quarter. This is, this is the night. This is the 90s. And you go, you were quarter Royce and you go in. And let the girl do her thing. And then you go and you finish. And then you go ahead and throw the rubber out in the bathroom. That was his move.
- Speaker #0
That was his move. What a great thinking so he doesn't ruin the corduroys.
- Speaker #1
Exactly right. Protect the Levi's cords.
- Speaker #0
Yeah, man. Don't come with sweatpants.
- Speaker #1
Oh, ew.
- Speaker #0
And flip flops. That's like, ugh. But sometimes I've heard girls say, guys that come in with flip flops, they usually have a lot of money. I don't know. I don't want to see your toes, especially if you don't have a pedicure.
- Speaker #1
Ew. Ew. My favorite, again, I haven't been forever, but used to love them. When I was younger, oh, my God, like 20s and 30s. Oh, fuck yeah. When I'm from upstate New York, and so the place to go was Sundowner in Niagara Falls.
- Speaker #0
Oh, okay.
- Speaker #1
Because the drinking age was 18.
- Speaker #0
Oh.
- Speaker #1
And it was two, two and a half hours away.
- Speaker #0
Is that considered Canada? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's Canada.
- Speaker #1
Right. I'm sorry. It's on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.
- Speaker #0
Okay. Right? Got it. So.
- Speaker #1
It's two and a half hours away from little old Canandaigua, New York. So when you turned 18, it was like a rite of passage that you'd go and. It was awesome because I still have goosebumps about it. Oh, God. I've been. There's so many girls there. It was like, first of all, this is back when the Canadian exchange rate was like 50 to 60 percent. Oh,
- Speaker #0
right.
- Speaker #1
And they've got these brown $100 bills. It was like fucking Monopoly money. So you'd go like we used to be doing blow. Like I'd have one time we went for a stag party. Won't say who it was, but you know who I'm talking about right now. And there was a bunch of us, 15 of us in a limo bus. I had two eight balls down my pants. They pulled us over. Everyone's shitting their pants for me. They just got us off one by one just to see, like, this is before 9-11 or anything. It was just, no, where are you from? Where's your license? You're good. Get back on. And then went in, and I was trading blow for lap dances at Sundowner. The thing was, and this was like the unwritten thing, Sundowner is where you went for, like, to watch a Buffalo Bills game, and it was more of like a rhino. Okay. A little bit classier, nicer, but it was all, like, these younger. 18, 19-year-old girls. Now, I was also in my early 20s at the time, so it was okay. I wouldn't go there now.
- Speaker #0
And I'm sure the drugs weren't that bad back then.
- Speaker #1
No, no. Back then, blow was blow. It was wonderful. Yeah, yeah. It was wonderful. They caught it with like a laxative. You might have the shits and that's it. You're up for a week. You got the shits. That's it. But you're still alive.
- Speaker #0
Oh, my God. Not like now. Yeah.
- Speaker #1
And so, but the thing is, is you've got Sundowner and then right next door was Seductions. And if you wanted the naughty girls,
- Speaker #0
Oh.
- Speaker #1
you go to Seductions. Where?
- Speaker #0
So funny.
- Speaker #1
I had a girl one time, and I mean, I'm there with my buddies, and you're kind of standing there because you're getting to lay the land. Yes,
- Speaker #0
yes.
- Speaker #1
And you're kind of looking around, and my thing back then was I liked like tan blondes. Well, this fucking gorgeous like 18-year-old tan blonde comes up with this like French-Canadian accent. She's like, hello, would you like a blowjob? And I went, excuse me. My lower body went numb. Because this is like 23-year-old Jeff with no game whatsoever, full head of hair, more chins than a Chinese phone book.
- Speaker #0
You're like, well, I got the blow and you got the drop. I'm like, my God.
- Speaker #1
Didn't do it. But there's stories you'd hear. And back then, different times. It was the 90s. Sure. Whole different times. But I don't know if Sundowner is still around or not, but that was the place to go. And then I started coming out here.
- Speaker #0
Okay.
- Speaker #1
And my place out here was the OG.
- Speaker #0
Oh, gee. The Olympic Garden.
- Speaker #1
The Olympic Garden. Now it's Peppermint Hippo. Now it's Peppermint Hippo. But I became friends with one of the bartenders, Dino. And my thing was, yeah, I get some dances, but I'd have more fun just playing poker at the bar with the girls and doing shots with Dino and doing the whole thing and having a blast.
- Speaker #0
And the speakeasy bar, the lounge in the VIP area.
- Speaker #1
They didn't have a speakeasy back then.
- Speaker #0
Oh, no. Oh, right, right, right, right. I'm sorry. Oh, geez. Yeah. That's how it was. It was just strange.
- Speaker #1
Okay, so, oh, something else we need to talk about is what about if I am at a gaming property? Say I'm staying at Aria and I want to go to a strip joint. Do I take a cab? Do I take rideshare? And how should I have them drop me off?
- Speaker #0
Okay, so a little trick. Call Rhino or call your strip club. Call them for a pickup. They will come to your casino, you know, either SUV, party bus or whatever. They'll pick you up and then you'll actually get free entry for using their ride share service. And especially like for Rhino, I know always get dropped off in the back. Back entrance is the best way.
- Speaker #1
Why?
- Speaker #0
It's just low key. You come in. There's still girls that kind of line up. When you come in through the back, you get better service. And then you're at the better bar. You're in the better area. And it's just nice. It's smooth. Rather than you going to the front, you got to pay. It's like a requirement that you have to pay the door fee. But, yeah, if you want to bypass the door fee, call Rhino. They'll pick you up at a casino and you're with friends. And then you get free entry.
- Speaker #1
How much do they charge to pick you up?
- Speaker #0
It's free.
- Speaker #1
It's free?
- Speaker #0
Free. Yes. So all you guys, all you tourists. What a great hack.
- Speaker #1
Oh my God.
- Speaker #0
But if you know a dancer, you can call her and then she can alert the manager to order a car.
- Speaker #1
I love that. Exactly. How about, obviously, a ride home? They've been drinking. They'll give you a ride home as well. Yeah,
- Speaker #0
they'll take you back to the casino.
- Speaker #1
Do you charge for that?
- Speaker #0
No, just tips. Always. Obviously.
- Speaker #1
Always tip. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, hey, if y'all are coming here, tip the fuck out of these people. Especially if something's free. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Yeah.
- Speaker #0
Sponsors. Your bartender. Definitely the bartender. If you're not tipping your bartender, you're trash.
- Speaker #1
Yeah.
- Speaker #0
But, yes, always. Everybody works for tips.
- Speaker #1
Um, I, I love that about the whole, like you can get a ride. Cause the worst feeling ever back when I used to come here and this is like, I used to live in St. George, Utah for a while and would come here and party. The worst was. I'd be at the Rhino or OG and you'd walk out and it's daylight. And you're like, I never felt worse about myself.
- Speaker #0
It's breakfast of champions right there.
- Speaker #1
I'd be like, oh, no. Oh, man. And it's 10 o'clock in the morning.
- Speaker #0
Leave that place and I'm like, I always, I'm on my Snapchat and I'll be like, yeah, do my victory dance.
- Speaker #1
Let's talk for a second. We have a few minutes left. Yeah. Because for you to market yourself now as a stripper is completely like you've got snapchat you've got instagram you've got tiktok you've all this stuff how did how do you go about marketing yourself to nurture and cultivate a relationship with someone that came in and you gave dances and and hit it off uh you know for the first time and like you know i'll be back here next year I'll be back here in six months.
- Speaker #0
Yeah. I am, I've always been very vocal. A lot of strippers, sometimes they're very like low key. I know a few girls who are not like out there with letting it known that they dance. Maybe they have like other jobs. But given the fact that I'm in adult entertainment, I'm, you know, I'm a porn star. So I am proudly speaking about that. I'm doing pictures with the media team to be on billboard and advertising for the clubs. And when I'm on there, so like on social media, I always post when I'm at Rhino and it's great because they'll reshare me. Then I get pop up on like if tourists come and they're searching. I've heard this a lot. Like guys will do their hashtagging like Rhino or hashtagging Vegas dancer stripper. And then they find me and then they they want to come in. And then. It's great. I mean, also, you got to do a little vetting because we don't want like crazy people to come in. But at the end of the day, it's all marketing. And, you know, you can't just rely on the little bit of guys that are coming into the club. Yes, you're going to get that. But why not do the extra mile and do promotions? And then now because I'm so out there on my social media, I do a lot of podcasts. I do a lot of different like. uh you know reality shows or whatever people know that i'm a vegas dancer so they'll be like oh like i have people be like i'm coming to vegas in four months like i'm gonna come see you okay come through like you know then it's so safe because no matter if they come through it's not like they're gonna like see me coming into work they will never see that no but they know all you got to do? You go in the club. maybe ask the DJ, maybe ask the bouncer, hey, is Onyx Muse working? And then they'll ring me or they'll guide you to me and bam, it's like easy.
- Speaker #1
I've always, my low-key retirement job is I want to be a strip joint DJ just to be the announcer. Okay, guys, put your hands together for Onyx. Stage three, we've got Onyx Muse. Sparkle and heaven on two and four.
- Speaker #0
Shout out to my... Great friend, Dan Diamond. He is one of the best DJs, strip club. Great name for a strip club DJ. Diamond. Dirty Dan Diamond. Straight up, buddy. That's great. He's a producer, so he's out of Detroit. Right on. But you literally tell him, I'm like, you are like me, but like the male version. He has literally DJed at every strip club across this country. And he's very well known. But he is a great announcer. And I'm always like, I need you at my club announcing.
- Speaker #1
That baritone voice is just, I'm just like, all right, guys. Next up, we've got Heaven. Sparkle on. And hey, put your hands together on stage, too. We've got Sparkle with Arnold's Muse on deck.
- Speaker #0
And as a dancer, you, I mean, if you're a stage girl who definitely goes on stage, you need to make that DJ your friend. And you need to tip that DJ because when the time is right and the right customers are, you know, making it rain and you want to go on stage, all that is going to pay it forward and he will get you on at the right time. So when, you know, people are actually making it rain on stage, then you're there. If you do not show love to the DJ, he is not going to put you on stage when the money guys, he's putting his money girls on stage.
- Speaker #1
The whole back end of your business, it just blows my mind.
- Speaker #0
Yeah.
- Speaker #1
Because there's a lot of moving parts.
- Speaker #0
What? And like, I'll say this, like, what? Because I brought in girls from California who I danced with out there and they're like big time hustlers. And when they come out here, they crumble or other girls come from other areas. And what girls have to understand, you're not going to fly in here and think that you're just going to come to the badass club and just get princess treatment. And you're just going to come in, get your money and leave. Oh, hell no. The club has a vetting process that they'll do. Not hazing, but somewhat, right? You need to earn your stripes. And when you come in here, the way to get the club working for you is they want to know, are you consistent? You're paying your house fee. You don't have any problems. And you're tipping. I don't care what it is. When you go in a VIP, for the most part, like even if you sold it. Just tip the guy a little bit goes a long way because literally when I have done that and maybe there's been a day where I'm not getting nobody and they have this guy, they go on. Hey, this this guy really needs a cool girl. And I know you're cool because I help. I've been tipping them. They'll get me in there. A lot of girls will not do that. And these guys, because it's all everybody's making tips. They will fuck your hustle up. I've had bouncers. Like I've been talking to a guy and they've totally interrupted me. They won't even let you go to the best table. So take care of your bouncers. Tip a little 20%. It goes a long way. Even though it feels like you're losing some, pay it forward. It will help you in the long run.
- Speaker #1
What is, because it's again, like stripper names are the best, right? There's fucking hysterical. And so last question is someone that like is not in the business anymore.
- Speaker #0
like gone retired and gone what was like the wildest stripper name like it's you know sparkling sunshine but a real name is like fern flanagan like the greatest like difference of stripper name to their actual name different um you know the best thing in vegas is once your stripper name i think it might be in there for like 20 years so nobody can take your name just in case if you Yeah, no. And that is why it's very important to officialize, you know, get your branded name as a business license. So nobody takes that. But I mean, the names are getting even crazier because there's not a lot of names left. Like my first stripper name was Deva Dossi. I I I mean, actually, it was like a meaning. It was meaningful. But my manager would fucking make fun of me so bad. And then eventually I had a bouncer and he goes, well, he's like, you're in porn. He's like, you could use your porn name. And I was like, I can. I was like, why are you guys telling me this? And so then when I changed my name, my manager would call me Devadasi still. But it was like funny. But, you know, you just don't know. It's, you know, you got to get creative. and also like You want to have a name that has a little bit of meaning. It has a little bit of edge, but also it has a little bit of like fantasy. Like you want those guys to remember your name and remember like, oh my God, when I went to Vegas, Onyx just rocked my world.
- Speaker #1
I love it. Thanks, honey, for coming in. This has been great. Thank you so much. It's been a lot of fun.
- Speaker #0
Yeah.
- Speaker #1
We will do this again.
- Speaker #0
Absolutely. I really appreciate it.
- Speaker #1
Thank you.
