Description

Jason Clawson is a therapist, widower, and father. He lost his wife almost three years ago to Stage 4 colon cancer. While she was receiving treatment, a friend brought her a "Sunshine Basket". This basket has become a way of healing and helping others through the darkest moments of their lives. Jason and his partner Wyatt formed Giving Sunshine LLC to serve, lift others up, and keep the memory of his wife Valerie alive.

✨A few highlights from the show:

1. Give people permission and invite them in when you need support.

2. Create a conversation about cancer with your kids that allows them to ask open-ended questions.

3. Connection is the opposite of grieving and loneliness. Connection is the key to happiness.

4. Create opportunities to feel and share your emotions.

5. Do your work to heal!

🦄About Me:

In 2011, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, out of the blue. I did not have any prior health concerns or issues. Fast forward, the dreaded cancer diagnosis opened my eyes, introduced me to my purpose, and lead me to where I am today.

As a Cancer Doula, I use my 11-years of experience with cancer to support and guide others diagnosed with cancer. Many people are not familiar with what a cancer doula is. Think of me as a personal health care advocate.
