Iselyn Hamilton-Austin is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, 16-year breast cancer survivor, and CEO of Duckling to Diva; a young women's empowerment organization. Iselyn also takes pride in being a children's book author, mother, and Grandmother.

1. When you are diagnosed with cancer, it is a time when you have to put yourself first.
2. Many cancer survivors experience survivor's remorse. It is feelings of guilt that occur after surviving a life-threatening, traumatic event when others did not.
3. The time is now to do the things you want to do in life. We don't know how long we have.
4. Make the decision not to be a cancer victim. See yourself as victorious! Each day you wake up and have another shot at life that is a win!

In 2011, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, out of the blue. I did not have any prior health concerns or issues. Fast forward, the dreaded cancer diagnosis opened my eyes, introduced me to my purpose, and lead me to where I am today.
As a Cancer Doula, I use my 11 years of experience with cancer to support and guide others diagnosed with cancer. Many people are not familiar with what a cancer doula is. Think of me as a personal health care advocate.
