According to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide Version 7, a global guide and framework for project management, published by PMI. The role of a project manager has evolved. They're not just supervisors anymore; they're also coaches and mentors. PMBOK Version 7 brought some game-changing updates, stressing the human aspect in project management. As a coach, the project manager actively develops their team's skills, identifying strengths and weaknesses and offering guidance for improvement.
Our project manager is also a mentor, sharing experience, knowledge, and best practices to help the team overcome challenges. They inspire confidence, encourage learning, and promote professional growth. It's a shift towards recognizing the importance of interpersonal skills and leadership alongside the technical aspects of project management.
