Description

In this meditation, we gently explore the emotions that arise when facing our reflection and reconnect with the beauty within. Through grounding breaths and visualization, we create space to embrace self-compassion and release judgment. Together, we’ll honor our bodies as temples that carry us through life’s journey. With affirmations of gratitude, we’ll shift our perspective and nurture self-love. Take a deep breath, and let this practice guide you back to your true essence.

Welcome back to Soul Sistas Sleep Meditations. Hey Soul Sistas, this meditation is for those of us who have a little bit of a hard time looking in the mirror lately. you've had some trouble seeing themselves for who they really are. Those of us who have a bit of trouble looking in the mirror and seeing. what we look like on the surface. This meditation is for those of us who look into the mirror and don't really like what they see. This meditation is for you. This meditation is for those of us who don't like what they see, who don't like what they're... present situation has become we don't like to see the behaviors that we've been displaying those of us who are scared to glance and see themselves in that mirror This is for you. Let's start by getting into a comfortable position that feels safe and relaxing. A place where you can let go of the tightness and the tensions that we've been holding in our bodies all day. Take this time to be productively relaxed. You can be sitting down. You can be laying down. Any place works fine. As long as you have this time and space to... Take this moment to relax your body as we take a deep inhale, feeling the oxygen flow into our lungs and filling our lungs up. And exhale just like a balloon. releasing all the air and all that goodness out into the world and inhale once again that sweet goodness of oxygen of life feel it and feel it in your lungs and exhale it out fully and completely feeling that tightness in your chest as you release fully and inhale As we expand fully, filling our chest, rise in our shoulders, relax away from our ears. As we fill, our bodies lean into... the back of our chair or if we're laying in a bed feeling our body sink down into the ground as we exhale Feeling our bodies deepen into the ground as we allow gravity to do its work for us. Once again, deep, deep, deep inhale as we're filling our lungs with life. as we expand and as we ground down into the earth, allowing the earth to carry any tensions or any weight and allow ourselves to give it to the earth like a little offering we can allow ourselves to do this now as we continue to inhale On each inhale, focus on the expansion of your lungs and your body, allowing oxygen and allowing gravity to go ahead and fill in that space in your lungs. allowing us to inhale and expand as we do with every phase in life and as we exhale I want us to visualize ourselves. I want us to visualize a mirror. It can be a mirror. in your bathroom. It can be a mirror in your bedroom. Maybe it can be your dream mirror. A mirror that is so extravagant and lovely and creative and decorative. Imagine this. beautiful mirror, a full body mirror to allow us to see ourselves fully. Take a moment to visualize. This mirror in this space When's the last time you looked in the mirror? And I mean really looked in the mirror with great detail and with great attention. Let's allow ourselves. this time and space to look in the mirror with attention visualize yourself walking up to this mirror As you do so continue to connect with the constant that is your breath and with every inhale Focus on that expansion point where your body has reached its peak. Connect with that space and exhale connecting with that space of contraction and when does that reach its peak focusing on that space as well once again take a deep inhale in Focusing on that space where you have reached the peak at the maximum amount of oxygen in your lungs and exhale out. focusing on that really tense area where you have reached the maximum contraction then filling that space up again as you continue to inhale And exhale as we face ourselves in this mirror. Now, how does it feel? to see yourself now. What is it that you feel as though Something is stopping you from seeing your true nature beyond this mirror. What is it that you see on the surface? What is it that you don't seem to like or care about? What features do you look at and just be like? Eh. What do you see in the mirror that makes you want to take a step, two steps, three steps back? Whatever feature it is, you don't have to restrict it to your face. This is a full body mirror. We are looking at our whole being now. Our whole selves now. It is unavoidable. Whatever feature it is that you just don't really like or it gives you Just a bad taste in your mouth Maybe someone even told you that there is something wrong with this part of your Surface Being Whatever it is, I want us to focus our eyes on that feature. Bring your whole attention to that area. your body. What is it that you don't like about it? What is wrong with it? Take this moment to look at the fine details of this area on your body. Do you see any creases, any inconsistencies in the tongue or in the complexion? Is something, do you think something is too big or too small or? not big enough, or not small enough, or whatever your feelings are towards this feature, I want us to look at it in the mirror. and ask ourselves, what does it do for me? How does it help me? Is it doing the best it can? Maybe even taking this moment to touch this feature on your body. Gently caressing it, patting it, holding it. And repeat after me the following affirmations. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I thank you for holding me. supporting me and being the temple to house all of me as I venture on this human experience of life. Thank you for allowing me this unique experience with this unique feature. Thank you, thank you for always being there, even in times when I couldn't be there for you. Thank you for trying your best with me. You are good enough for me. Thank you for the sensations that you provide for me. Thank you. Thank you for taking care of me. I hope that I can take care of you too. You are beautiful. I am beautiful. Not just on the surface, but my beauty lies. And how I gently take care of self. How I gently... and compassionately show up to care for this beautiful temple that I have the privilege to be housed in. This mirror is only a reflection, a reflection that shows us deeper knowledge and understanding of our inner child. of our ego and of our bodies within. Ashe.
