  • Speaker #0

Hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening. I'm Sophie Lyons coming to you with the gorgeous Clara Kavna. It's Friday morning when we're recording. It is disgusting weather in London. I sound like this because I'm recovering from the plague, but feeling better, but still a bit sweaty. Clara, how are you?

  • Speaker #1

I'm very well Sophie, thank you.

  • Speaker #0

    Oh welcome back.

  • Speaker #1

We're arguing at the Traff of Gost this morning.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh don't hurt me.

  • Speaker #0

I don't want to do that because of my plague situation. If anyone else had the plague or has the plague, I had a mix of tonsillitis and a flu-like vibe. Sending you lots of sympathy, get the pseudophed into you and I would just suggest lying down. Yesterday was my first exploration into reality. I had some fresh air for the first time in four days and it was really nice, but really sweaty. And I needed a rest after it.

  • Speaker #1

    To take to the bed.

  • Speaker #0

I did. I was like, oh God, I'm going to have to go home and lie down. But at least I'm hopefully knock on wood that I won't get anything. after this. Yes. I also pride myself on not getting really sick.

  • Speaker #1

You've done it preemptively of Christmas, though, so hopefully you'll go in immune strong night of December.

  • Speaker #0

And you know, when you're sick in the midst of it, you're a bit like, who did this to me? You're looking around, you're like, was it you in the workplace? Was it that person in the gym? And you're trying to blame someone. Because do you remember during COVID, you could play the blame game?

  • Speaker #1

You could. Yeah. And you were allowed to call people out like on the street.

  • Speaker #0

basically oh you're like i'd be like i was in contact with you yeah i have it yeah do you remember the nhs tagging thing yeah like it would send you an alert yeah that was so like zombie apocalypse a little bit i was talking to someone and blah blah he was a non-vaxxer though or an anti-vaxxer and then this person was like nothing wrong with that i suppose and i was like are there are people like you out there like oh my god and i was like what he's like Yeah, I mean, we just got it so we could, what, go on a holiday? And I was like, you make me depressed. And then he said, I've had really awful trouble, like, after. And I was like, what? You loser. And he was like, joint pain. And my doctor actually, and I was like, don't say your doctor did a paper on it. And he was like, my doctor did a paper on it. And I was like, I can't talk to you anymore. Anyway, sorry. Let's get on to positive or negative stuff. Clara, what are you jetoring and testing this week?

  • Speaker #1

I have had two jetests recently, so I am going to go positive. My jetore is, it was our wedding anniversary last weekend. It was just so lovely. We went back to Ireland.

  • Speaker #0

    Such stunning pics.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh.

  • Speaker #0

    Darling pics.

  • Speaker #1

Felt like we really tapped into the magic of the day. We got our wedding photos and they gave it to you in like a book so we saved them.

  • Speaker #0

    Very glamorous.

  • Speaker #1

Oh my god it was gorgeous. It's included in the package it was so nice. Annie and Kevin Kefachi if anyone wants a cinematic drama photographers who have endless ideas and they could have been better or nicer. Like we were hugging them the whole day.

  • Speaker #0

I also feel like they weren't intrusive.

  • Speaker #1

No and like we're very embarrassed when people take our photos and Like, you know, I wouldn't be a natural.

  • Speaker #0

    We're very bashful.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

    Well, it is very awkward.

  • Speaker #1

    It is.

  • Speaker #0

Because it's like forced, you know, like the hands and stuff.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah. And they were like, totally took that on board. They were like, no, no, all natural. They were so good. So we got to look at all our photos. And then we went out for dinner with mum and dad. And we went through the day from like the night before to waking up on the day. And I got everyone's like different perspectives. of the day and like loads of stuff you forget or that you weren't there for exactly it was so good that's really nice god i have such a bad short-term memory i know yeah because i i think if it's not like in a photo i won't remember we were talking about my um my dad's speech and he said he was saying that god yeah but he was saying that uh so

  • Speaker #0

sweet yeah it was such a good oh god it was Very triggering. It was such a lovely speech.

  • Speaker #1

But he said that... if you're speaking, particularly for the best men who have to wait to like the after the dinner, basically before they can have a drink properly. Because dad and Mick's mum spoke before we went in for dinner and he was just like, I have to be really careful now of like how much champagne I was having and just wanted to make sure I wasn't nervously drinking. And he said, I said to myself, I'll have two and then we'll go into the dinner. But then he said, I was walking back from the loo and who do I bump into? The two Lions girls. And they got me. and they they hooked me under one of them hooked me and they dragged me over to the bar and sure didn't I have a third and he was like and you know what they like really riled me up then and I was like because he was like I was a bit nervous and then he was like after talking to the two girls I was really really excited so you literally sent him on like a trajectory that was the best part of the story I didn't know it was coming

  • Speaker #0

    He's such an icon!

  • Speaker #1

I didn't know that was happening either and he was like it's too hard to say no to a third glass of champers when you're a sandwich between the two lion sisters.

  • Speaker #0

Your family really gave us our, do you say our flowers? They really gave us their appreciation that weekend.

  • Speaker #1

    Yes, yeah. That's very funny.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah,

  • Speaker #1

it was so good. You guys were... Such showstoppers as well. Like even on the day two.

  • Speaker #0

    That was very funny.

  • Speaker #1

Singing zombie. That was so funny.

  • Speaker #0

The two lions girls. Oh, that's really funny.

  • Speaker #1

The two lions girls. And special shout out to you two as well, because that lovely present you got me was so gorgeous. So thank you. Thank you. Oh,

  • Speaker #0

    of course.

  • Speaker #1

    Really keeping the dream alive.

  • Speaker #0

    One year after the event.

  • Speaker #1

But no, because I need to keep... Time moves on, sadly. And you get further and further away from that special day.

  • Speaker #0

Rachel's had that for three quarters of a year. No longer.

  • Speaker #1

Oh, no, this couldn't have happened at a more perfect time.

  • Speaker #0

And then at one point I was like, can we just Uber courier it? Rachel was like, oh, do we? And I was like, I just want her to get it. And I was like, is it not annoying you? It's in your house. Like you're looking at it. She was like, yeah, no, you're right. Anyway, delighted.

  • Speaker #1

No, it was perfect. Couldn't have come at a more perfect time because we're redecorating. Oh,

  • Speaker #0

that lion's girl made me sweaty.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah, and I didn't know that.

  • Speaker #0

I ran into him, I think it was the weekend after or something. I think I was at home for another wedding and I went down to Black Rock with my mum for a coffee. And who do we run into when we miss our team? And we all just went, yeah! It was like non-verbal for a while. Nah! Ooh! oh it was this is like load of noises there's just too much to say and then my mom was kind of like um my Sorry, mine's going to be really bitchy now. Mine is, I don't want to take it negative.

  • Speaker #1

Oh, come on. I'm so negative.

  • Speaker #0

It's not negative. I've just, I've heard of a term now that gives. So I had an experience and I told you about it. And I was like, you know, there's people that just don't ask you anything. And you're asking all the questions, but like they want to be there.

  • Speaker #1

    So it's an epidemic.

  • Speaker #0

It is. And I've never understood it. I'm like even when I think about it I know people they come literally like that who do it so I googled it because I was like what is it and sorry your response was get real which I thought was excellent get real people who don't ask any questions in a conversation have been coined it was an article on the guardian as non-askers and it is a wave sweeping the nation and there's not really any reason to it. Apparently the psychology behind it is sometimes they don't want to seem like they're prying, which I think is ridiculous. That's not, that just doesn't add up. It's like they're so unaware, unselfaware, that they can't possibly bring themselves to go, oh wait, I haven't asked a question yet.

  • Speaker #1

Because sometimes I think it's, when you can tell somebody's nervous, they can monologue, they can.

  • Speaker #0

    But,

  • Speaker #1

    but,

  • Speaker #0

but license. for a certain amount of time and then it's just socially not acceptable.

  • Speaker #1

No, no, 100% agree. And I think it's such a common thing that people come back with dates that they're just like, he didn't ask me anything.

  • Speaker #0

And like, you know, like social situations and you're like... They literally didn't ask me a question and I know what vitamins they're taking.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

Do you know what I mean? It's such an uneven thing. And I'm like, this is weird. I'm like, I really don't care that much about what vitamins you're taking. I'm just trying to be sound.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

I've become a lot more intolerant to it in the last few years. If you're a non-asker, and I'm sure we have non-askers listening, check yourself.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah, get real.

  • Speaker #0

    Ask other people questions.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah. It's called a conversation.

  • Speaker #0

Show an interest. Even if you don't care, that's socialising. So don't put it down to you're shy. You don't want to pry. You don't want to be nosy. You're nervous. Get over yourself and ask a question.

  • Speaker #1

    Agreed.

  • Speaker #0

Boom. Get real. Get real. Get real. I hope you tell your dad that. It's very funny. I will. Now, we have a mishmash of gossip this week. There's no huge, striking news story, should we say? We have a few things going on. Clara, you have something to do with Kris Jenner?

  • Speaker #1

Kris Jenner. Harry and Meghan. So at this point, I feel like the whole world has seen Kris Jenner's 0070 themed Casino Royale.

  • Speaker #0

Oh, I didn't know that. That's really great.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah, very clever.

  • Speaker #0

    That was Mindy Weiss.

  • Speaker #1

    Must have been.

  • Speaker #0

Classic Mindy Yeah Sorry Also just very Illuminati energy The whole thing It was in Jeff Bezos'

  • Speaker #1

house I know You know the way there's that conspiracy theory That all famous people are lizard people It felt very lizard people party It felt very Cyclops energy It did Oprah's come over to that side Yeah Beyonce and Tina

  • Speaker #0

Jay-Z Beyonce hated them What is that? Beyonce didn't go to the wedding Kim's wedding No And she was always like I don't want to be seen near her Because she's trashy There's something, there's something.

  • Speaker #1

    Something going on.

  • Speaker #0

Anyone they touch becomes obsessed with them. Like the whole All Is Fair cast are obsessed with Kim.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah. Something is, like Adele went, like Tyler Perry, he is full of prestige.

  • Speaker #0

Tyler Perry. Oh, I feel like that's, yeah. It's the Jeff Bezos thing that I think is like bonkers.

  • Speaker #1

I think it's their friends with Lauren Sanchez. Remember when they went up to space, the Kardashians were on the floor.

  • Speaker #0

Do you not think that's weird though?

  • Speaker #1

It is strange. I think he just wants to be such a celebrity, though.

  • Speaker #0

    He's such a little twerp.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah. You know, he has two houses. One for parties and one across the road that he lives in. And the party one is worth $165 million. Like, while the world burns.

  • Speaker #0

    These people.

  • Speaker #1

    These people.

  • Speaker #0

    Capitalism.

  • Speaker #1

And so, there's a lot of, like, in the news about Harry and Meghan. And so, basically, the Kardashians, after a few days, put up loads of photos. And in the car sales, there's photos of Harry and Meghan. And then they were taken down and then that...

  • Speaker #0

Was the whole post taken down?

  • Speaker #1

No. This must be what famous people are. But I think they were able to remove the photos from the carousel.

  • Speaker #0

Because I googled it. And that's not a function.

  • Speaker #1

It must be they have like...

  • Speaker #0

They must have some kind of dash. How does it be? Social dash.

  • Speaker #1

I'd say they have like an account manager at Instagram.

  • Speaker #0

    Probably.

  • Speaker #1

There's loads of stuff going on that like... Why did the photos get removed? One of them was that he was wearing the Remembrance Day poppy and she wasn't. Another one was that they both had white powder on them, like Justin Bieber did on his pants. Now, I really don't think they'd be walking around with a suspicious substance on them. Also,

  • Speaker #0

can we just... Meghan's show, she barely took a sip of the thimble of a cocktail she made. She's not doing coke.

  • Speaker #1

    Exactly.

  • Speaker #0

If that's what you're alluding to.

  • Speaker #1

No, and like... Allegedly. With Justin Bieber and the white stuff on his pants, he was smoking a cigarette or a joint or something beforehand. and it's down at his crotch. So you'd assume that like just Ash got on his crotch. Yeah. And then another one was that she's pregnant and that's why she wants to vote us down. But like, why would she wear a foreign fitting gown?

  • Speaker #0

Is it not that they're just weird?

  • Speaker #1

The rumours have run riot. And then there was also this stuff that like the royal family thought that it was so tacky. And if you're trying to repair things with King Charles, like why are you going to this glitzy party? One royal insider said like, it truly shows Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family and these people may be stars in America but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with the life and the monarchy so it was like did they get a slap on the wrist from the royal family no but boring answer is usually the right one it's a GDPR issue yeah basically one girl who went Cassandra Gray whoever she is she posted on her sub stack the Evite And on it, it said, to ensure all guests fully enjoy the evening and maintain everyone's privacy, please note that phones are not permitted during the event. Upon arrival, they will be put into a little phone pouch.

  • Speaker #0

    Oh, they took everyone's phone.

  • Speaker #1

They took everyone's phones. Now, there was obviously official photographers there. But I think what happened was when you entered the event, maybe upon checking in your phone, do you consent to photos going on Instagram? They ticked the no box. But obviously... Kardashian, I assume fired Kardashian employee, didn't see that memo and posted the photos with the minute. They didn't want the photos to go public. They didn't mind that they were internal. But sorry, you don't go to a fucking Kardashian event and expect not to be photographed.

  • Speaker #0

They're just like they want both sides of the cake.

  • Speaker #1

They do. Reports inside saying that Meghan was in networking mode, schmoozing her hole off with a lot of power players in the room. And she came across as cool. I don't know. We've all seen her show.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah. Okay.

  • Speaker #1

But apparently the photo, there's like these few insiders. You never know with these insiders. They're a bit like the blind items I take with pinch salt.

  • Speaker #0

Or, you know, when there's a royal expert and you're like, it's not a degree.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah. What a sad little life. You know that one, what's her name? Jenny. She's always on like ITV or she's always on the Irish media as well. And she's like a royal reporter. and it's like where are you getting this and like is your whole life talking about the royal family and they're like oh and you know little george he loves to play cricket you're like you've never met them you don't know george you don't know was it jenny bond she's always doing the rounds it's like is that your whole shtick just talking about the royals but the photo being removed these insiders from the kardashians are like said that kim was like had said you've already been packed outside And you were at this baby to baby gala the same night and photograph like Meghan Trainor, Paris Hilton, who were also at that event. So what's the problem? And the insider saying Kim is pissed off.

  • Speaker #0

Weird they were there in the first place.

  • Speaker #1

Weird they were there. It seemed like everyone was like, oh, they were gate crashing. It's like they live in the same area. Of course they're invited. Didn't Chris get a load of the jam? It's just it's a bit like it feels like just a mountain of jam. But to finish up. Meghan's just said goodbye to her 10th publicist in recent years. Emily Robinson has said her goodbyes. Apparently, she left voluntarily. She oversaw work with Love, Meghan and their production company. And yeah, she resigned at the end of October. The Sussexes said that she did an excellent job, but she only joined in June. So I don't know.

  • Speaker #0

She left voluntarily. That means it wasn't.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah, but like June to October, that is not very long.

  • Speaker #0

    That's just past your probation.

  • Speaker #1

She obviously didn't pass the probation. Meghan previously employed nine other communication staffers, two of whom have since moved on to non-publicity roles within the Duke and Duchess of Sussex operations. So she's flying through these. It's probably because that kind of does speak to the wider issue of how bad their PR is. Like they're always behind on the story, like, and they employ such important people. It's very unusual. They're always getting stuff wrong. Like, get ahead of this story of the removing the photos. Yes, it was a GDPR issue, but like...

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah, they don't think ahead.

  • Speaker #1

    No.

  • Speaker #0

    Always behind.

  • Speaker #1

They're always trudging behind, muddling through.

  • Speaker #0

They are lethargic in their reactions.

  • Speaker #1

A hundred percent. They come across like such nepo babies, like, I'm going to do this big deal with Spotify, with Netflix, and then have no substance to anything.

  • Speaker #0

    But they just sit down.

  • Speaker #1

    Sit down. down.

  • Speaker #0

I know they won't because they need the money, but like, just sit down.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah. I would say Storm in a GDPR teacup.

  • Speaker #0

    Christ.

  • Speaker #1

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at that fucking party. My God. So many people read it.

  • Speaker #0

    Chris looked unreal.

  • Speaker #1

    Unbelievable.

  • Speaker #0

As did Corey. We love Corey.

  • Speaker #1

    Do we?

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah, I love Corey.

  • Speaker #1

I think he's the gatekeeper of a lot of secrets, keeping them together.

  • Speaker #0

I know. I just really like him.

  • Speaker #1

    They've been together 10 years, haven't they?

  • Speaker #0

He's the best thing that ever happened to them.

  • Speaker #1

    To the Kardashians at large.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #1

    Explain why.

  • Speaker #0

    Corey.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah, what does he...

  • Speaker #0

Because he just sort of takes their garbage and he's like, yeah, don't worry about it. And he just sort of appeases Chris and he's having crack. And, you know, I think he takes her down to a better level. Like Bruce really riled Chris up.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah, true, true.

  • Speaker #0

Corey is like a Valium. And then they're all like, oh, Corey. And he's just there. Like, he's not intrusive. He's just chilling out.

  • Speaker #1

He did talk about slapping their kids for a while.

  • Speaker #0

    Well, what?

  • Speaker #1

like that was a while ago clara please if we if well okay whatever cool okay cory yeah i stand on the opposite fence i

  • Speaker #0

was trolling for gossip and this thing kept coming up and i was like i'm not interested i'm not interested and then i had to read and i was interested holly ramsey gordon Ramsey's daughter.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

She calls herself a digital creator. So I think like a bit of an influencer. She's engaged to an Olympian swimmer.

  • Speaker #1

    Go on.

  • Speaker #0

    Adam Peaty. Oh,

  • Speaker #1

sorry. I saw a headline. Oh, I'm so glad you're telling me about this because I had no idea who that person was. Well,

  • Speaker #0

it kept coming up. And I was like, I don't want to read it. I don't care. And then it was kind of interesting. Basically, they're getting married. She just had her hand at Soho Farmhouse, which we spoke about last week, Gazza. And how you... You're not allowed to go there.

  • Speaker #1

    Official podcast for so long.

  • Speaker #0

She had her hand there. Victoria Beckham came, obviously, because she's over the wall. And he went on a stag to Budapest. The overarching theme is that it's a tale of two classes. mixed-class potential marriage on the cards, basically. So they're saying that the Ramses are, like, middle, almost upper. Definitely upper. And then the Peeties are on the lower end. From what I've read, there was chaos because his mum wasn't invited to the hen do, but the sister was. That was the only one of his sides that was invited.

  • Speaker #1

Ooh. No, invite none or invite them all.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah, totally.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

That's one thing. But then I think family members are sort of writing on stuff, talking to papers and stuff. So we're getting like a load of people talking. He went on a stag to Budapest, obviously didn't invite his brother because I think he's fallen out with his brother. Then apparently he landed in Manchester from Budapest and had a police escort off the plane and into like through customs into a private car because the brother was sending him threatening messages throughout the stag. Apparently about this whole thing. Then it transpires that the mum and I think subsequently the dad, because the mum isn't not invited to the wedding anymore.

  • Speaker #1

Hang on, the mother of the groom?

  • Speaker #0

Mother of the groom. Apparently, she got an outfit for the wedding and they said, the couple said they didn't like it. So they said, come to Bath, we'll pay for you and the dad's train down. We'll go shopping and we'll buy you an outfit. Apparently, the day came and the mum had to cancel because of a personal issue with her sons or something. I don't know. But apparently she didn't give them any warning and they were then really furious because they had paid for the train tickets and they cancelled. So now the mum isn't invited, but from what I'm kind of understanding, his side of the family is kind of like riding up on Instagram and talking to papers.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh, this is delicious.

  • Speaker #0

And it's like just this fresh, ongoing feud. And apparently the reason the mum's kind of sisters, like the auntie or something, was saying that the mum is being body shamed and that's why they don't want her at the wedding. She looks different to everyone else. She's a very normal looking woman, P.S.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh, my God. Also,

  • Speaker #0

I did a little look on his and her Instagram. They seem to be very biblical. At the end of their posts, they're like Matthew 12, 14, such and such.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh.

  • Speaker #0

It is a very interesting story. It's developing rather quickly. A rapid pace. And I only got into it an hour ago.

  • Speaker #1

Because when I went to the Daily Mail, it was like Petey brother arrested.

  • Speaker #0

Oh, he was arrested. Sorry, he was. Apologies. Yeah. So he's been arrested and let off. But he was like, obviously, threatening stuff. Apparently, Adam Petey got on to Holly Ramsey. And apparently she contacted the police. I don't know. Anyway, that's why he had an escort from the airport. but the brother was obviously saying some bonkers stuff.

  • Speaker #1

Was it on the way to the stag or on the way back so the brother wasn't invited and he was pissed off?

  • Speaker #0

I think it was throughout the stag maybe because it was last weekend.

  • Speaker #1

    Wow.

  • Speaker #0

    I know.

  • Speaker #1

Questioned by police for two days before being released on conditional bail. He sent a barrage of verbal threats. Sorry, it's just funny wording.

  • Speaker #0

But apparently, apparently they were like five police officers met him off the airplane and I'm like Could we look at resourcing here, please?

  • Speaker #1

    That's a huge issue.

  • Speaker #0

    Isn't it?

  • Speaker #1

It's just because they're famous, they're getting that attention. Where's the attention on Real Girls?

  • Speaker #0

But that's what I'm wondering. I'm a bit like, you could have sent two. Just send two. Don't tell me there was five.

  • Speaker #1

But you know if like people go over complaints of like, I'm getting harassed and the police are like, we can't do anything.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #1

We can't do anything. Whereas this, they're going to send five police officers.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh my God.

  • Speaker #0

    I know.

  • Speaker #1

A Christmas wedding. So it's going to be soon.

  • Speaker #0

    Yes.

  • Speaker #1

Oh God, that's so embarrassing getting arrested for harassing someone via text. Like that is not a good look.

  • Speaker #0

It's just like, sorry, I know it's obviously not a nice situation, but like it's quite cheesy. Anyway, so watch this space. I'm sure there'll be more over the weekend. So when this comes out, they'll probably be on a date. I don't mean to look delighted, but it was really interesting.

  • Speaker #1

It's very like Towie energy gossip kind of vibe.

  • Speaker #0

Yeah, but it's a bit... His whole family's not invited and they're like kicking off.

  • Speaker #1

How could you get married without the family there? I don't know. Oh, God.

  • Speaker #0

Oh, I feel like weddings really pull people apart. Weddings and funerals.

  • Speaker #1

They do bring to the surface a lot because everyone has their own vision of the day.

  • Speaker #0

and they're like I don't want to invite her because then I'll have to invite him.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

And I don't want them here.

  • Speaker #1

And then I think everyone tries to throw their oar in a little bit sometimes. And yeah,

  • Speaker #0

sometimes I think about like when I get married manifesting. Yeah, I just I would be like, no, no,

  • Speaker #1

    not on my watch.

  • Speaker #0

No. Anyway, watch this space. Very exciting. Gazza, I watched a preview clip and I think you watched a longer clip for the trailer for Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

  • Speaker #1

This movie version has been really upsetting the fans of Wuthering Heights.

  • Speaker #0

    Why?

  • Speaker #1

I think because it's so far removed from what the book is actually like. And it's a bit like when people touch a classic that the real fans are like, oh my God. You know the way what Dolly Aldrin said about her doing the Pride and Prejudice remake?

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah, yeah.

  • Speaker #1

She's like, she's really upsetting the Jane. Austians.

  • Speaker #0

Oh yeah, what did she call them? Ausha.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah.

  • Speaker #0

    Crusations.

  • Speaker #1

But it's, you know you're on Emerald Fennell, or Fennell? I think it's Fennell.

  • Speaker #0

    That's a funny name.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah, who did Saltburn and Promising Young Women. So she always has like an unusual take on things. So I'd be really interested to see this. Wuthering Heights is in inverted commas, so maybe it's a loose interpretation of the story. So it's coming out on Valentine's Day.

  • Speaker #0

    Oh! Yeah. That's really cool.

  • Speaker #1

There was some controversy because Heathcliff is supposed to be black and then they've chosen Jacob Lordy. So that's where the controversy first started. Or maybe he's mixed race. I'm not sure. I'm sorry I haven't read the book. I didn't do it for my leaving.

  • Speaker #0

I wish I did it for my leaving because I always hear about Wuthering Heights. Is it Wuthering or Whizering?

  • Speaker #1

Wuthering. And do you know who's in it is Owen Cooper, who was the kid from adolescence. He plays a young Heathcliff.

  • Speaker #0

I thought it looked really good. Now, I only watched the short trailer, but I feel like anything Margot Robbie's in is excellent.

  • Speaker #1

Yes, and it was produced by her production company, Lucky Chap.

  • Speaker #0

And the chorus is a tree.

  • Speaker #1

I know. I love the way they've gone crazy with the outfits because it's just such a cool interpretation. Charlie XCX is doing the soundtrack.

  • Speaker #0

I saw that. Now, Jacob Elordi, what do we think?

  • Speaker #1

Does he have raw sex appeal?

  • Speaker #0

No, just what do we think about him?

  • Speaker #1

I think he, we see he was in Soulburn. I thought he was very good in Soulburn. He played that character very well. I think he's great.

  • Speaker #0

    Do you?

  • Speaker #1

    I haven't seen it. I haven't seen like Euphoria.

  • Speaker #0

I thought he would annoy you.

  • Speaker #1

No, I saw him in Frankenstein. He's very good.

  • Speaker #0

    In Frankenstein?

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah, he plays the monster.

  • Speaker #0

    In a movie?

  • Speaker #1

Yeah, it's on Netflix. I saw it in the cinema.

  • Speaker #0

    That sounds really scary.

  • Speaker #1

It is. Well, yeah, it's kind of an epic. It's not too scary. I'm very squeamish. It's not that scary. Oh,

  • Speaker #0

    okay.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah, it'd be interesting to see because... If he can channel this, because Emerald has said that her take on Wuthering Heights is primal, sexual and an enormous amount of sadomasochism.

  • Speaker #0

    Masochism.

  • Speaker #1

    Can't say it.

  • Speaker #0

    Sadomasochism.

  • Speaker #1

Thank you. So I think it'll be, it'll be really good.

  • Speaker #0

Also, if it educates me on an older vibe.

  • Speaker #1

Yeah, it probably helps that we're not like literary fans of the book. Because, you know, when people touch a classic, you might be able to protect whoever it was.

  • Speaker #0

I love Little Women, the remake. yeah it seems very like gothic it seems very psychologically intense very erotic what some might say and very dark and stormy it's like was it scotland they filmed it in yeah somewhere in the uk yeah yeah and

  • Speaker #1

then on a glitzier note we have the trailer for dubwurst reddit 2 so good seeing the red heels i don't want to look up the plot No, but one nice little thing is May 1st, it's coming out. The first of May.

  • Speaker #0

    Ah, yes. Go on.

  • Speaker #1

Which coincides with the Met Gala tactical release.

  • Speaker #0

That is so clever. That's the first Monday in May.

  • Speaker #1

The first Monday in May. And because didn't they film at fashion shows and stuff for this? New York Fashion Week, maybe? So...

  • Speaker #0

Oh, my... Goodness. It's going to be great. Also, credit where credit's due. Thank you for teasing only six months prior and not 18 months prior.

  • Speaker #1

    I know.

  • Speaker #0

Do you remember they did that with the Mary Poppins remake?

  • Speaker #1

    Oh, and Barbie. And Barbie.

  • Speaker #0

I love the Barbie movie. It's so good.

  • Speaker #1

It's so good. But yeah, it seems like... Do you want to know a bit about the plot?

  • Speaker #0

    No.

  • Speaker #1

Okay. But it seems... All I'll say is it seems like Emily Blunt's character has...

  • Speaker #0

a lot of power this time around and maybe Miranda doesn't have the same prestige because it's like navigating the magazine print magazine world in this day and age 20 years on okay Emily I don't think she's in runway anymore oh I saw when she goes

  • Speaker #1

Miranda she's like about time so they're obviously in the same building yes and it's not following the so there was book this was based on a book it's not based on the sequel the book sequel I actually saw Devil Wears Proud of the musical. not so long ago oh with vanessa williams yeah is it good do you want my review please no it was great and glitzy costumes and set were fabulous like it was very theatrical in that sense like it was amazing visually yeah again a problem i have when i like something and then i go to the musical but it's the exact same oh as the movie so you're waiting them to hit their marks anyway you're kind of pre-empting it yeah but it was really good It was glitz and glamour. It's a good night. Right.

  • Speaker #0

    It's a good old rock.

  • Speaker #1

And it's loads of ladies. It's loads of girls.

  • Speaker #0

The sassy advertising was good for it, where it was like, this is so much better than, and it would name another West End play.

  • Speaker #1

Oh, it was brilliant. Whatever Queen did that, it's fabulous.

  • Speaker #0

Yeah. That'd be great. Yes. Clip, clop, clip, clop.

  • Speaker #1

Gazza, it's your turn for a recommendation this week. Woo-woo! Woo-woo!

  • Speaker #0

    Woo-woo!

  • Speaker #1

    Woo-woo!

  • Speaker #0

So I have really been enjoying, now there's only two episodes out, but... Carolina Dunne's Sentimental Garbage podcast has done a new mini-series called Friends Through a Lens, which is very fun to say. And first episode's two hours. It's all about weddings. So what they do is she has a different guest. She has a different friend on each week. I think it's going on for like six or seven weeks. And they talk about friends via a lens. Love it. So the first episode is weddings and the newest episode is about a Ross apologist. Yeah, it's actually quite funny. With the weddings episode, they do their top five weddings. They had like a really funny scoring system. It does get a bit teary at points where it might have been a bit much.

  • Speaker #1

    Yeah, I thought that too.

  • Speaker #0

But it was a really clever way to do Friends that isn't just the normal format. I thought she refreshed the format really well to tackle such a big show because it is such a sentimental garbage kind of show. Like it's perfect for that podcast.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh, totally.

  • Speaker #0

and yeah Obviously her takes and cultural takes on things are amazing. And the guest was really good. So it was just like talking around weddings. The Ross Apologist episode was really good because they've done it like they're on a...

  • Speaker #1

    I've only done 10, 20 minutes, I think.

  • Speaker #0

They do it like they're on a school, same, debate team. And one has been given be the prosecutor and one has been the defender. You know, it all comes up about his jealousy, you know, when Ross and Rachel finally get together. And then her defense is like, well, like he was with Carol and like Carol... left him really abruptly while they were pregnant waiting for ben and you know he was probably worried that it was all gonna happen again so it was just it's a new take on kind of a overly familiar like i think i could recite all those friends episodes so it was a good fresh way oh yeah and i think because it's past

  • Speaker #1

a certain point now where you can appreciate it in its time i always appreciate it in this time but you know people are like it's not diverse it's not this it's like it was of its time like give us a break and they've good behind the scenes Gus

  • Speaker #0

there's some lovely stuff they talk about David Schwimmer saying that like he was really fighting for them well them all to have the same paycheck because they want to give Ross and Rachel bigger paychecks they were like the first in class I feel like in television to all band together yeah which I thought was so cool and then another one that he really pushed for diverse casting like when the so the dates had to be of a different race and different shapes and sizes and stuff so he just sounds like a stand-up guy huh yeah So I definitely recommend checking that out if you need something. I love listening to those kind of parties like at night when I'm pottering around, brushing my teeth and stuff, because sometimes I listen to a lot of news.

  • Speaker #1

    Oh, no, it's lovely.

  • Speaker #0

I'm glued to obviously like the Andrew stuff. But, you know, late at night, I don't do that. So I'd rather hear about it from a Ross apologist.

  • Speaker #1

Or Holly Ramsey in your room.

  • Speaker #0

    Yeah,

  • Speaker #1

    that's my new go to.

  • Speaker #0

Well, thank you so much for listening. We've so enjoyed getting into these bits and bobs of goss. Don't forget you can follow along to the podcast. You can follow us on House of Gossip podcast on Instagram or at Klaas and Kavana or at Soph underscore Lions. Rate, review, subscribe.

    Apologies about my stuffy nose.

  • Speaker #1

I'm sure this won't be a very nice.

  • Speaker #0

We hope you guys have a great week and that it stops raining wherever you are.

  • Speaker #1

And I won't sound like this next week. Woo woo.

  • Speaker #0

Woo woo. Woo woo. Woo woo.

  • Speaker #1

    Verbal. Bye. Bye.

  • Speaker #0

We hope you guys have a great week and that it stops raining wherever you are.

  • Speaker #1

And I won't sound like this next week. Woo woo.

  • Speaker #0

Woo woo. Woo woo. Woo woo.

  • Speaker #1

    Verbal. Bye. Bye.
