And if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you've probably already seen it. But I will be having my first meditation event. And it will be a full moon celebration. I'm super excited. And I hope that I can make this a normal ritual. And normal cadence for us to just come together and connect. I feel like when we meditate together and come into a space and breathe together, affirm each other together, the energy is just so much more powerful. And the space that we hold together is so... safe, loving, comforting, and sacred. And so I really want to come together and celebrate the full moon this month, which is the harvest moon. Shout out to Faith and Sean and Isis and a few others that hopped on to the live last week. and really encouraged me to just put this event out. And as it's been something that's been sitting in the backlog, someone even signed up for my June event that I never released. So that was reassuring that I didn't even know that that person signed up. This meditation. is for those parents, those workers, those students, those kids out there who may be experiencing some forms of anxiety as we return back to school. or back to work, returning back to any set of responsibilities that we've taken a break from during our summer vacation. This meditation is for those of us who feel nervous or anxious about going to a new school with new classes, new teachers or new parents. Maybe at work we have to deal with new teams and new dynamics. This meditation is for those of us that are experiencing and going through such changes. Let's begin first by finding a place that is most comfortable to you. A place where you... feel safe to let go and let your guard down a bit. A place where you can relax the tensions in your body. You can be sitting down or laying down, whatever works for you. Feel free to go for it. As you do so, feel the space in your body. Feel your body as the weight. your body touches the cushion or the bed as we first take a very deep breath in and out. Connecting once more with our bodies as we breathe in deep. Big sigh out. Releasing the tensions that may be present in our bodies. Once more, taking a deep breath in. and deep sigh out. With every sigh, filling our shoulders, separate from our ears, filling our bodies, sink into our chairs, sink into the cushion, feeling the weight. sinking into the bed. Once again deep inhale in and deep sigh out As we feel gravity doing its work for us allowing the weight of our bodies to sink and to be supported by the earth. Once again deep inhale in. and exhale out allowing ourselves to connect with our breath, connect with our bodies. Let's first start by recognizing that the anxiety is there and present. No need to force it out before it's ready to do so. Just taking this time to name the feelings that are coming up for us and letting them know that it's okay to be here. Staying connected with our breath. During this time, as we connect with the emotions that are coming up for us, it's okay to just say, Hey. anxiety, or hey fear, I see you there, or hello nervousness, or I see you, voiceless, it's okay to give a greeting. to the feelings that are popping up for us staying connected with our breath with inhale and exhale As he greets the anxiety, just like we would greet a friend. So if the anxiety could speak, what would it say to you? The anxiety head words. What would they be? Allow yourself the space to listen to the anxiety now. Maybe if you're having a hard time understanding what it would say, maybe we can try prompting it by asking, what are you afraid of or what are you anxious? about Now, now that we know what our anxiety is trying to say, we can ask it, what do you need? Or how can I help you? How can we make this easier for you? Perhaps we need someone to talk to. Maybe we need to take one step at a time. Taking one class at a time. Perhaps we can help our anxiety recognize that we've done these things before. I've started a new school before. Pre-K, kindergarten, elementary. Middle school, high school, college. We've been here before. Maybe I've made a new friend before. Even if it was a brief time, I've made a friend before. How about I've studied before, I've given a presentation before, I've discussed new ideas and solutions. with new co-workers before. I've done all these things before, so I can do them again. Hey anxiety, hey fear, nervousness, voiceless. We don't have to worry so much. We've done it all before. And even if something does go wrong, we can trust ourselves. We can trust each other. We can trust a friend. We can trust ourselves to make it through. We can trust that it won't be that bad. After all, we've done these things before. Thank you, anxiety, for your wisdom. Thank you for expressing your need. I am here to help, and we can move through this. together and You are not alone. You are not alone. I've seen you and we've been here before. Thank you, anxiety. I see you there and I take you and... I put you on my shelf. You can feel free to hang out there for as long as you need. I've got this. We've got this. And even if the anxiety is still present, still watching, still existing with its physical manifestations, perhaps sweating or tingling nerves on high maybe some blushing or wanting to hide away we can acknowledge anxiety for what it is we can see it We can notice it. We can offer it compassion with the following affirmations. I understand that you are scared. I understand that you are nervous. I understand that you are overwhelmed. I understand. It makes sense, given our past. It makes sense, given... a past experience or interaction. I understand that you being here is normal. I see you and I acknowledge you. I understand that you are signaling to me this change or this transition in my life. I understand. that you are scared about the uncertainty and what you do not know. But I can hold you through this change. We are safe through this change. It's okay for us to move through this change. We all go through changes. Humans are constantly changing. Feelings are constantly changing. Emotions are constantly changing. Our thoughts are also constantly changing. So we've been through changes before. This is no different. Our bodies even go through changes. Things are constantly changing. I've made it through all those changes. And I trust that this is no different. anxiety, I love you, I thank you, and I understand you. Ashe.
