Description

Have you ever had a mentor? How about a mentee? As a student, recent grad or anyone, really, it can be feel daunting to find someone in your field of interest to take an interest in you…Likewise, as a mentor, it can be hard to find someone with the passion, work ethic and heart to take your lessons and use them to build something great. Today’s guest is my mentee and podcast AP/editor. From this episode, you’ll learn how our Mentor/mentee relationship came to be and how you can find and cultivate one of your own, too!

In the month of April, Unleash Inner Creative is collaborating with Michigan State University’s (My Alma Mater's) student-run radio station, Impact 89FM. Each week this month, you’ll hear from a remarkable MSU student or alumni who is doing great, creative work out in the world and/or on campus. These episodes will air on both the Impact radio station, 89FM, as well as on the usual Unleash Your Inner Creative podcast feed.

From this conversation you’ll learn:

  • The value of mentor-mentee relationships + how to find one

  • The power of networking and connection-building

  • How to be your most authentic self in your work environment

  • The necessary steps to prep for a major life or career change

  • And Much More!

On the Guest:

Kicking off the first week of our collab, today’s guest is Rachel Fulton- she is our editor and associate producer on Unleash!  She is currently a junior at MSU studying broadcast journalism with the goal to pursue a career in radio or podcasting after she graduates next spring. She found her love for radio and all things audio in high school, where she was the News Director and a DJ for 89.5 WAHS Avondale Community Radio. She has been with the Impact since her freshman year where she has continued as the News Producer for The State podcast and the Podcasts Director. Rachel is also our Associate Producer and Editor of Unleash!

-Remember to subscribe/follow the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. Please leave us a rating and review- it helps SO much in getting the show out there.
